Cs6500 9x or cs-6700 10x

If I have a Mavic Aksium wheelset with a freehub that supports a sh-hg400 9x cassette, will the same freehub support a cs-6500 9x ultegra cassette, or cs6700 10x ultegra cassette??? If no, which other fhb will I need???
If yes, if I installed the 10x cassette, what will I need to do to adjust for accomodation??? I can, hoping, probably find slim bolts at home Depot... Thanks in advance.

Your freehub will accept Shimano 8,9 or 10-speed cassettes in any of Shimano's component levels including Ultegra. You could install a 10-speed cassette but you will need 10-speed shifters to use it and would probably have to refine the rear derailleur limit screw settings and cable tension.

What are the "slim bolts" for?

I thought slimmer bolts might be suggested to make the cassette fit.
Now if the cassette fits, I can begin my ultegra r8000 -mechanical, "drivetrain only" upgrade. I already have an ultegra BB, r8000 crank set and r8000 calipers installed (:.
Thanks.

The OP may still be in luck if he's going the 11-speed route. Unless they're truly ancient, Mavic Aksiums reportedly are 11-speed compatible with the 1.75mm Mavic-supplied spacer removed. (Mavic freehubs were 1.75mm longer than Shimano 10-speed freehubs for quite a while before Shimano released 11-speed, hence the 1.75mm spacer.)

Hopefully the OP isn't planning on using the 11-speed shifters with a 10-speed cassette as an interim step. I don't think that's going to work out very well.

Or Sram 8, 9 10 speed cassettes.

What bolts???? Please explain what bolts you're talking about. It makes no sense to me

I wonder if the calipers and crank would be compatible with 9 or 10 speed shifters if he wanted to do that? If he's thinking of going with 11 speed all around, that's an entirely different issue.

Yea, no kidding. I hope OP is a litlle clearer in what he plans to do.

I think that the OP should chime back in and give a fuller account of their plans and goals. I am sure that most of us would like to be helpful but I see contradictory information coming in.
Something like an inventory of the parts they have and an upgrade plan. The posts so far don't make this clear
