It's the wrong color. I wouldn't even make an offer for it. Besides that, I'm done with used and old bikes.

A rusty old bike polished up and set up as a fixie gets $200 nowadays. And people are saying this thing is worth $100-$350.

$1000 is too high.

If I wanted to get back into triathlon, and needed a bike like this for a season or two before I decided if I wanted to re enter the sport, this would probably work.

Basically, it’s worth whatever you can talk the shop down to. It’s older and built with an extremely narrow focus. I wouldn’t feet bad walking away with it for $400-500, with the full understanding that I would not be able to sell it for anything later.

Depending on that seatpost…

A bike with a 7-speed rear is probably pre-2000. In fact I think my old Trek 14-speed was from the early 1990s. How much is a possibly 30-year old bike worth? (Not much.)

So, the real question would be, “Why would you pay for this?”
