Your Ride Reports - June 2022

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Your Ride Reports - June 2022

If you are new to posting on this thread, or if you are new to cycling, we welcome you! If you are returning from a previous thread, we welcome you, too.

This thread is for anyone who rides a bicycle ... or unicycle, tricycle, tandem, etc.

Are you an experienced road cyclist? Do you bike to work? Do you pull your children to the park? Do you ride weekends? Do you spin at home or in the gym? Is Zwift your thing? Do you race crits, ironman, or centuries? Touring? Audax/Randonneuring?
Or are you just starting out and remembering how much fun you had biking when you were a kid?

There are no set challenges - this is a mixed-ability / mixed-experience / everyone welcome group.

Just pick the target that you would like to achieve this month and post updates throughout the month as you work toward your target. We love seeing photos of your rides and hearing all about them.

Share your accomplishments with us.

I went out two weekends ago on Sunday. Did a nice ride out to Flatwoods park and back for 44 miles. This Saturday went to Weedon Is. for 40 miles. Sunday rode the Courtney Campbell Parkway trail to Phillipe Park for 43 miles. Then went out last night for after work Davis Is. 27 mile ride. Hoping to go tonight as well. Its hot, but the riding has been pretty good.

June so far...

1299.2km and 10,479m elevation.

Today was a lovely little 2hr solo cruise along the coast, 68km, 432m, 32.7km/h ave. Nice and steady, no big efforts but could feel the training week in my legs so looking forward to my Monday rest day tomorrow.

I did go out last Tuesday for my 27 mile after work ride. Something silly and something serious happened. On the silly side...I dropped my water bottle and it rolled straight into a storm drain...gone. On the serious side...I passed the scene of a car on pedestrian collision. I heard later the person had died. Friday and Saturday I was back in the Ocala Nat. Forest. Saturday was 41 miles and Sunday was 40 miles mostly non paved roads.

I was back in Tampa this past weekend. I rode to the Upper Tampa Bay trail for 40 miles on Saturday. Sunday did my Picnic to Davis Is. route for another 40 miles. The weather man said it would be rainy, but it was sunny and hot.
