Smile Want to Buy: 66cm-69cm Steel Frame or Complete

Hey!

I'm looking for an extra large vintage frameset or complete in the 66cm-69cm (c-t) range. I live in Portland, Oregon, so having fender eyelets is a must. Hopefully, I can fit 35mm tires under said fenders too. I don't mind patina or scratches. As a matter of fact, that's better. Got anything cool??

Thanks,
Tim

Do you have a top tube length in mind? Many of the very-tall XXL vintage framesets had top tubes that weren't any longer than the XL or even L framesets of the time.

Also, did you see this Davidson frame in PDX? https://eugene.craigslist.org/bik/d/...553224003.html
Only 63cm tall, but 63cm long in the top tube(!) and classy as all get out, with the tire clearance you're looking for. Not cheap, but a good value for what it is.

I’m not as picky about the top tube, but I’d want a long enough front-center to fit fenders without toe clip. I know that depends on other factors besides top tube length though.

I have a 67cm Nishiki Frame from the 1970's partialy built up with an SON front wheel, lighting Brooks saddle, Sugino crank and front and rear racks $95 (bare frame) - $600 depending on parts
A beautiful Winsor bike at 68cm with Campy Chorus $750 but tire clearances are less than what you asked
a Trek 400T at 66cm? not sure about seat tube at $450 has Honjo hammered fenders and Riv. noodle bars and a rear rack
a 1980's Rodriguuez Tandem 67cm-58cm $950 with a drag brake and Phil hubs Brooks saddles, Mafac brakes

Also a 1972 25" Holdsworth frame set up for light touring $480 May be too small for you
I also have boxes of good parts including a 14sp rear hub built up into a tiny travel bike wheel and other nice stuff to help you build.if you go this road.

Then there are two other bikes but they are over $1,500 and one over $7,000
all for sale

These all sound like good candidates, besides the tandem (and maybe the winsor). I’d love to see some photos if possible. Where are you located?

A highly custom 67cm Ron Beckman Touring frame (bare frame and fork) but can't locate it yet and it may have wandered off
