Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A truncated ride today. I really really didn't feel like going, and half way through I still didn't feel it. I hit rain ten minutes out, still in the village, but it was only one cloud so I powered through it. At the turn around point the roads were dry and the sky ahead was black Easy decision. I don't feel that post ride refreshment, so maybe there's something going on.
The Mrs comes home Saturday night, bearing three jerseys and a pair of shorts. Thus ending the need to take my kit into the shower with me after every ride. Woo hoo! I'm basking in the glow of not having done it today either.

I would be much poorer economically if AG left me, but that would be the least of my concerns.

Which version did you have? I still have a set of 1st Gen Ksyriums that are currently serving trainer duty, but I have never had a problem with.

Silent K is the way I've always heard it. Lance made them very popular when they first came out.

I bet you silent K is how a few of you pronounce words like knife, and knoll. And knowledge. Sad. SMH

Those Ks became silent as the word was borrowed from other languages. It's incredibly annoying for a marketing department to decide that, intentionally.

All good Anglo-Saxon words there. Could be wrong, but I think the Ks dropped in English usage.

Very uneventful last day at the shop.

I start the new gig on the 12th, naturally the next week has rain forecast almost every day

I think SL. Black bladed spokes. Broke a spoke at least once but the nipples pulled out of the rim 3 times. The first 2 times Mavic warrantied it for me but the third time they said no. I was in 1000 Oaks and by the time I got there 3 spoke nipples had pulled out and I had to pick up the bike and carry it. I was dropped by the group, had to get a taxi for $100.

Sold the set with a new rim which I paid for.

I wonder if those are the original tires? They came with Mavic tires and tubes and I still have one of the tires in my car in case someone needs it.
Mine also came with freehub bodies for Shimano and Campagnolo. The store (Competitive Cyclist) had them in stock with the Shimano freehub but I asked if I could get the Eyetalian style so they switched it and gave me the Shimano part no charge.

Also knight, from knecht.

The urge to make organically-derived words spelled like they're pronounced erases the etymology that produced them and is incredibly destructive.

my friends car is the orange 70 L78 Chevelle SS ... he still has this car

Well, I'm sure glad Zwiftpower put me back in D. I just barely took 3rd in a D race with a field of 8. Mostly, I burned too many matches, stupidly, sprinting for primes in a race with no primes, then having to claw my way back up to the lead group when two guys attacked right after one of the sprints. I ended up without enough gas in the tank for the sprint.
