I'm glad Hikebikerun got to a dinosaur, I got another whopper of a puncture in the back tire @ mile 5, it sealed (after spraying for a bit) then re-opened around mile 8. I put in a plug, filled it up, and it was squooshy and getting moreso by the moment, so I turned back for home. Got home at ~40psi. Sigh.

Already binned it and put in the replacement. The WTB Exposure: the ride nice and they roll well, but the durability/longevity is... pretty bad. About 1,600 miles and the rear is done.

I rode past... what was left of a rabbit this morning that would send chills down your spine. It looked like it had gotten hit with a tiny grenade.

I saw a ripening armadillo on this morning’s ride. Coyotes will probably have it cleaned up by tomorrow morning.

I use blogger.com to host/post my paintings on (https://paintingsbydanforce.blogspot.com/?m=1). Doesn’t cost anything.

I'm not sure if this once was a fox or a cat, but definitely dead:

Next mission: A prison building or jail built before 1900. Bonus points if it is now being used for a completely different purpose other than a museum.

Wanted: a purpose-built cycling/biking facility.

Built in 1786, this building originally had three storeys and housed a prison, an insane asylum and a house of correction. From 1824 to 1918 it served as a governorate prison, from 1920 – as a warehouse. It was renovated in 1999 and now serves as an office center.

My bike is the black one, to the right from the white car

NEXT MISSION: a purpose-built cycling/biking facilty: a velodrome, BMX track, pumptrack, MTB trail (must have artificial features like kickers, berms etc.), etc.

You even got the bonus points! Weird paint job around the windows on the bottom floors, guess it's supposed to make it look friendlier.

My guess is the paint job is supposed to mimic the historical look of the window niches. That would also explain why it's present only on the bottom floors, as originally there were only three storeys. Presumably the white painted cornice between second and third floor separates the original building from the part that was added later.

I suspect, given the history, that the first three floors' windows were quite different from what they were when it was a jail/warehouse, and the paint job is supposed to give the building some character, and, as you say, to blend in the upper floor addition. It's a weird effect in the photograph, at first glance it looks like a cartoon. Thanks! Great find.

Bike Track Took. Next: Low-water dam

BMX track at the Gathering Place in Tulsa, currently closed due to Covid-19.

Hard to see it all.

Hikebikerun, I owed you some water:

It has rained.

Next Mission: A low-water dam or weir.

Example: This low-water dam forms Zink Lake on the Arkansas River, built under the old railroad bridge.

By my clock, that's three missions completed in 10 hours! Pretty sure that's a record, but I'm not nerdy enough to check.

Thank you!!! I will try that out. You seriously did those paintings? They are really good. I like the train and the one of two people kissing by the gazebo. That is really really good!!!!

In 2018 I did some drawing and it was a lot of fun. That was the last one I did. I don't think I could ever paint. Too much going on. I like things simple. But I love seeing people's paintings that can paint.

ETA: I just now figured out I can dl directly from my computer to here. LOL.

I’m guessing this doesn’t count as “low-water”...

I looked it up... I’m off by 315’

Came across about an 8' gator killed on the side of the road a couple of weeks ago in Trinity Florida. It startled me at first as I was approaching - until I realized it was dead.

That gator is a lot more intimidating then the bunnies and squirrels and sometimes dogs I ride near. Wowz. Wow. I think I would've pee'd myself a bit. LOL.

Fungus Finally Found. Next: Tower Crane

Mushrooms were in a ring around a tree.

I don't know mushroom names. Anyone? I poked around some mushroom sites and best match I found was parasol mushroom.

I saw some construction on the ride and it reminded me of the time I watched a self-elevating tower crane be moved up a section. The whole apparatus is very clever.

Next Mission: A tower crane.

Those do indeed look like parasol mushrooms. They're delicious, and young specimens are edible even fresh. I had some last saturday

Next Mission: A tower crane.
