I won't be. I'd be trusting the same regulatory system that provides the drugs I take now (for better or worse). As I said, I wouldn't be getting anything off ChineseWonderDrugs.com. SMH.

There are a number of vendor/service provider companies in my business that divide their services between the US and China. The higher end stuff is done here, and the more mundane stuff in China. But the line moves over time. 40 years ago when I was working at Cornell, they had a bunch of Visiting Scientists from the newly-friendly PRC, and their level of expertise was roughly 40 years behind. Now? About even.
And, honestly, I wouldn't trust an American company with my genome sequence, either. You can't take your data back, you know. I figure in a few years they'll probably have enough data to make a rough estimate of longevity based on a number of genes/mutations, and insure you accordingly. But it doesn't have to be longevity. It could be any condition with a genetic component.

I am to disappoint.
75kg would be a stretch goal, but 78 or so should be fairly attainable. You know, if the year doesn't have any surprises for us.

Decent ride outside. All went well with the repair with the exception of the rear wheel briefly locking up when I laid down the wattz. QRs r dum.

Here is something for the cube dwellers. I really like Bluegrass music. My friends from Boston way have a band named Southern Rail. They are Sharon Muller and husband Jim, he's the one with the beard. They ride a tandem and Jim will only look at steel bikes. He posts mostly on the antique bike forum. We have done a few rides together but not lately. So if you are down and depressed, here is some Bluegrass to pick you up.

If they did, I'd be no worse off than I am now.
Congress could pass a law saying insurance can't discriminate on DNA, the same way it is now for preexisting conditions. Otherwise, what can be done? We're not putting the toothpaste back in the tube.

I believe that's covered under existing law. Doesn't mean it can't happen.

Hey datlas or other hip gurus:
I've got "hip" pain issues. They've periodically reared their ugly head for the last few years, but I was finally compelled to try to figure out exactly what's going on.
To my untrained mouse eye it seems like the pain resembles that of trochanteric bursitis.
Does this seem likely, given my condition? If so, is there anything to be done about it beyond taking the drugs I'm already taking?

No. In "normal" times it's fine. When the pain arises it can be modest to severe. It hurts even when I'm sitting/lying down. On the outside of the hip.
Unlike my other joints, I can't see/feel inflammation on the hip. But it's painful. Oh boy.

I had issues with my rear wheel slipping out of the QR dropout on my mountain bike until I went to an old steel internal cam skewer. No problems since.

I had a lot of outside the hip pain (just below glutes) with a torn labrum. But also had clicking and limited range of motion. Once it flared up, it hurt no matter what.

I tentatively diagnosed it as inflammation or irritation of the Gluteus Medius. I also hypothesized that it was because I was riding the Bianchi with its old FSA crankset A LOT - it was my primary long-ride bike at that point - and it had a larger Q-factor. I converted the Ritchey to 10 speed and put on a 12-28 cassette to allow me to climb more easily. It has a 7410 Dura Ace crankset with about the lowest Q-factor of any dual chainring crankset out there - 142mm, IIRC - and the pain went away and hasn't returned, even with riding a LOT more this year than last.
So, I can't be sure that's what caused it, but I've changed the crank on the Bianchi to a Campy Centaur, which I think is about 145mm like all Campy doubles, and I'm disinclined to put the FSA back on to see if I can make my ass hurt again, though that would be the scientific approach....

Could also be sciatica, which I got back in 2014 on the same side.
