Shimano XTR 9100 pedal - seal fix?

I have those pedals, and I understand the problem that you are describing - I noticed it the very first time I rode with them. After about 1.5 years, I have concluded that it is not actually a problem.
My slightly older XT pedals do not have these seals -- I know this conclusively, because I have dismantled two pair of them for cleaning and regreasing a couple times.

Non issue. Its an extra bit of insurance. Just push it back.

What's wrong with returning the pedals to where you bought them and buying something else and quit your *****ing.

I have two sets of Shimano PD-A520 pedals. The seals on them go to heck real quick too. But that doesn't mean anything other than you might have some grease leaking out. If you took the pedal body off the shaft, you'd see that the bearings are far up inside and that sand and grit really isn't going to get up that far in them. And I'd suspect that like mine, they are easy to lube and don't really require much attention.
As for pointing to reviews.... well, for any product there are usually people out there that had a bad experience for some reason or another. Some like to flame and let the world know their discontent and how the product destroyed their life and self-worth..... sort of like you maybe.

how many km on this set of pedals? about 50 and i can already see the seals getting ready to pop.
the whole point of this thread is to prevent the destruction of a brand new set of pedals, therefore saving 191 dollars. either for myself and or others.
can i ask you a personal question?
