Dura Ace Freewheel “kit”

After a few drinks last weekend, I sent @PastorBob a PM on the Dura Ace Freewheel and the assortment of cogs.

I decided to do my first build as a 14-21. This will be the closest to a “corncob” that I have ever ridden.

These along with (earlier in the week) some Campagnolo Dropout adjusters, and a BIG box of Sturmey Archer AW pawl springs.
These bring the absurdly ridiculous Schwinn cruiser that much closer to completion.

Some new bigger tires. Just in time for the 'what's up with blackwalls' thread.

What came in the mail for me today?

Nothing. My local PO has been in some disarray and my neighborhood hasn’t had mail delivery in almost 3 weeks. I will continue to live vicariously through you folks.

If I’m going to be riding my Mercian in the Catskills I need to gear down. Thanks to fender1 for this beauty. It’s also a triple but lazy me says start with a double and see if you need the middle parts.

Yes, Sun XCD. Beautifully made and finished. I have one of their hubs, a high-flange 10-speed cassette, on my Mk I.

Nice JIS Tange Levin alloy headset from Matt. Sekine is waiting for it. Shame it is getting harder to find this standard for our older steeds. Sometimes I don’t want to put the head tube under the park tool blade!

A set of modern Bluemels. I love the old Club Specials and Populars, but they are fragile, so when I noticed a new set can be had for as little as €17.99 including shipping and all the mounting hardware, I thought I'd give em a try.

Mpt really "in the post." I rode over to iab's house to grab these repop Vittoria brake hoods for my Frejus Tour de France. David gave me a third (I already had one), so I might put that pair on the Automoto.

Still pissed that they don’t bring back the white fenders anymore. They are great fenders!

Right there with you. With the current prices of Bluemels on Ebay you'd think there was a good business case for SKS to bring back a full collection of Club Specials.

That looks really nice!
I have a question for you. What's the bolt circle diameter of the 3-bolt little ring attachment on that SunXCD thing? I remember looking once and couldn't find it.

Thanks. Crust says 74, and I believe them: https://crustbikes.com/products/sun-xcd-exceed-crankset
