Repairing shimano BL-7401
Hi, I was installing the cable on a Dura Ace 7401 BL and the wire hook came undone inside the lever. Are these repairable? I surmise the ferrule was too small and pushed the wire hook out of its place. Is the part number 878 2100 a special size ferrule? I was using the Shimano ferrules that come with the cable -housing set. I have the Shimano si shimano link and the consumer parts book, too. Any idea? THANKS

I feel your pain, had the same issue installing 7401 levers on my 91 Paramount. Unlike the 7402 levers, the 7401s have no return spring, if you don’t use these ferrules it won’t work right. Had I known this beforehand, would have sourced 7402 levers instead.
