Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did the packaging look legit? Or did you know as soon as you saw it?

Ugh. I have an eBay one which might be fake. It doesn’t have the stigmata of fakeness I was able to find on the web, but it was definitely cheap. Maybe I’ll hold onto it for an emergency.

They looked legit to me but somebody posted pics of the real chain package next to the fake one and there were some differences. I don't buy chains from Amazon anymore.

I got fake Shimano SPD cleats last summer. They came in a cheap cardboard box and the plastic was hard/brittle. I went ahead and used them but they wore out fast.I now buy parts of reputable online stores.

Crosswind feels just like headwind.

I got some fake BB7s once. Sooo bad. I put 'em on a couple of bikes as rear brakes only.

Guess I should order a real one or two and phase out those fakes. I need to push my Universal order up to $150 for free shipping anyways.

That could just mean that the factory chain and cassette have worn together. The cassette and new chain are now so different, size wise, that they don't mesh.
Do you have anything other than that to make you believe it's fake? It's not unknown, to have counterfeit products. The Chinese are pretty adept at revers eng. Pretty much anything.
