I recently started the rebuild on this one, a 1956 Schwinn Racer. Not a great picture but I didn't take any others of it before the teardown, and the ad with the pics was deleted before I even got home from picking it up.
And right after that, I found a 1962 version in the next size larger frame so it will fit me better. It's a little, um, sparser so will likely be built up with more latitude towards using more modern parts.

two things:
I was really hoping someone/anyone would have a pair of Handsome antique gold fenders on their bike so I could get an idea how they look.

I like having that center strip in the middle, to give added flat protection on pre-kevlar tyres, but that black seat-tube on your C.B. is way cool!

LeTour Luxe with SKS Commuter fenders. Interestingly, the rear fender was shorter than I had expected when I bought them. Then while riding on a dirt trail, I got a stick through the spokes on the rear wheel which bent the fender up like an inchworm. It returned to shape with some stress marks, but I had to shorten the fender even more. It still saves my back, but you may not want to ride behind me in the rain. Not that I do much riding in the rain nowadays.

I also like the fenders for after rain, puddles and also since I ride on dirt and sandy trails, minimizing the dirt that gets tossed around. I've gotten two sticks entrained in the spokes. One as mentioned above, damaged the rear fender. The other was in the front wheel and the breakaway tabs released with no damage.

This is a vintage duffle bag I modified into a Carradice type seat bag. A piece of nylon was sewn to the top, holes cut in and another added to the front to strap it to the seatpost. It attaches with straps to a dowel on the inside and works very well - cost about $3 at a thrift store.

So nice to see some of these perfect fender lines . I'm sure it takes time and patience to get them radiused correctly . I will find out when I eventually get a pair for my Moto.

Here is my new to me Paisley tandem with some Planet Bike fenders. Thinking about painting them to match although the black looks OK.
