I looked for a long time, it took patience and persistence. I missed many on ebay before getting one. Good luck!

Yes I have been looking for a very long time. I am retired now and still looking. I seem to be there the day after one is sold. At this point I am ready to overpay just to have one.

You didn't state a frame size but I'm assuming a 21" because I saw your other post directed to miamijim. Am I correct? I just purchased my second chrome Paramount today. It's a 1972, touring model, 24" frame. It joins my 1961 chrome Paramount.

What's wrong with that? Once he has that first chrome Paramount teisco will have more options, such as trading it for one in his size. I keep my 1961 chrome Paramount in the living room and if my wife would allow it, that baby would be hanging on the wall.

Strange I come here looking for help and all I get is blasted. I am getting to old to ride,,,when your my age things break very easy and I am not going to spend the rest of my days in a nursing home with a broken hip. I will put if in the main room but I am sure my grandchildren, of which there are many sizes, will excersise it when they are over.

Nothing wrong with wanting one for whatever reason. I told my wife that my chrome Paramount will be among my possessions until I expire. I had wanted one since at least 1968 and did not get one until 2006. It is a VERY valued possession indeed! Even when I can't ride it I can still marvel at the beauty.

Thanks,,,nice to know there are a few adults here.
If you know of any bike shops or retailers that deal in these or if anyone has one they are thinking of selling I would be very grateful.

You could always "Rat Rod" it.
Please just stipulate to the grand children they can never "Drew," grind or dremel a chrome Paramount, unless they want to live in bicycle purgatory for eternity.

Please. We are all adults here.
But, I hope you understand that this is more of a "Restore and Ride" than a "Bikes as Art" forum. And, Paramounts are wonderful to ride.
Therefore, most of us would be suprised by your comment about the size not mattering.

Maybe the fellow has a really nice wall. And besides... If you were the OP's grand child, wouldn't it be really cool if you got heavily into CV and discovered that one of the nicer bikes out there was time capsule'd at Gramp's house? My relatives don't have bikes.

Teisco - totally understandable, dude. Should we just send all Paramount sightings your way? Is there a ridiculous price cut-off?

My '74 Paramount track bike sits at the top of the steps as you enter my apartment, its the first thing you see as you enter. My Giordana w/ c-Record, Ergos and Deltas sits next the kitchen counter where one would normaly have bar stools and my De Bernardi works its way around the living room.
I have 16 bikes that are all rideable......I only ever ride 1 or 2. Dont be hatin' on those of use that can afford to buy 'wall art'. My message to the OP is to be a little more patient, this is prie buying season so prices are high at the moment. Take your time and buy the one you've always wanted.......

I apologize if I came across as slamming the OP for wanting the bike as wall art, but it is very surprising to think of wanting a bike so badly that I would drop maybe a grand on, only to hang it on the wall without giving it even one ride around the block. As cb400bill stated, it is just surprising to me.
However, if that is what he wants, more power to him. I meant no disrespect.
Out of curiosity, why do you want a chrome paramount so badly? Did you have one when you were younger or was it just one of the "great bikes" that you could never afford as a kid, but now you have the money?

Ok this wall art thing is really a lable that is not correct. I don't think anyone hangs these on living room walls. I know I see them hanging in garages all the time. I have no intention of hanging it anywhere. Of course I want to ride it but health problems pretty much negate that urge.
I have collected bikes over the years and also old cars, guitars and other things and they were all used and loved. Later in in life I moved to an apartment and just kept a few items to have around me to remember. The Paramount is one bike I could never obtain either because of lack of money or lack of prospects.
I am not rich, getting only a small ss check but I did just sell a few things to fund the paramount search. This is not something I have years to look for and so I hope to conclude this soon. My close friends know I am looking and are also on the hunt. Of course the chance is slim and this is a last shot in the dark.
I will not hang it on the wall but it will be in the living room sitting beside the few items I have left that I treasure.

I wouldn't call this a shot in the dark. Networking is the best way that I have found to track down a specific bike. While I don't know of any at the moment, I'll keep an eye out for the future, with you in mind.
For now, is your BF account linked to your email? If someone were to PM you, would you see it quickly?

the OP was misunderstood so quickly you have to actually see it in print on the screen to believe it....he's simply looking for a chrome paramount, $$ beside the point, and wants help locating one. why is that so hard to understand?

No, not as a starting bid. I can see it possibly bringing $2,500 if it started with a lower price tag, but nobody will bid at that entrance price.
That said, despite hanging NOS parts on it right and left, it wasn't a good frame to choose - the pinstriping is worn quite a bit. More than I'd expect, as a matter of fact.

No offense meant to all of you Paramount fans, but the bike looks a bit odd to me with the dull components vs chrome frame. Wonder if Khatfull could fix that.
