Multi day parking for tour around Lac St Jean, QC

I'm doing a 4 or 5 day tour on the Véloroute des Bleuets around Lac Saint Jean in QC and need to leave a car somewhere while I'm gone. According to the official guide book from the V des B, there are designated parking areas (I'll probably start in Alma) for this but just wondering if anyone has some experience with leaving their car while riding around the lake. Any other info on the V des B of course appreciated. Thanks!

I have no experience with that area, but there are a few railroad stations and an airport there, they might have parking.
Bonne chance.

I have parked at airport parking lots several times. I recently parked at Dane County Airport for 3 weeks without issues. Parking was $5 per day. I’ve also parked at the Toledo, OH airport for 5 weeks. Again, no issues.

There is an airport in Saguenay about 80 km to the east. Parking is $5 per day with breaks for weekly rates.

Thanks! I never would have thought about that as our airport parking rates are $5.00 for 30 minutes!

If you're a warmshowers member, I suggest you contact someone in warmshowers who lives in the region and ask if you can leave your car there while you tour. There appear to be at least 2 members who live close to Lac St. Jean, and a bunch more closer to Saguenay. I once received a request like that and a group of cyclists left their van at my place for about a week.

Little airports are usually cheap. Big ones aren’t.

I suspect you've checked this but here is a website dedicated to the Veloroute des Bleuets.

Well, I did this ride around the lake last week and it was great! I left my car in one of the Véloroutes des Bleuets authorized parking places that are scattered around the lake (mine at Métabetchouan) and it was still there and unmolested when I returned 3 days and 300 kms later. It was past tourist season and a lot of restaurants and camping already closed for the season but, on the other hand, not a lot of people on the route either. Sunny during the day and a bit chilly at night at 8C (46F) but pleasant for riding after it warmed up. Thanks for all your responses!

On more than one occasion I’ve called a local Police/Sheriffs Department and left a car at the far end of their employee lot with their permission.
