Miyata 210 worth?

Got a line on a 60cm Miyata 210......drop bars were replaced with upright bars, but the bike looks to be in ok condition from the pics I have seen. Paint is ok, and components will probably need to be cleaned and lubed, possibly a new chain and cables.

Owner is asking $75.....that seem like a good ballpark? Might be able to talk them down a tad. Just not sure, as it's just a 1040 frame. 210 is on the low end of the Miyata scale, isn't it?

Anyways, just curious.....thanks!

Miyata specs changed almost every year. What was a bottom of the barrel bike one year, was something decent another year. At the $75 price point, in Oregon? Won't last long, even if it is kind of doggy. And who does the rehab work?

I figure my 210 is worth around $100-125, at least I hope so as I spent $120 fixing it up this summer. Bought new in 1980.

Yea, 75 bucks is cheap for just about any bike in Oregon.....lol. It probably won't last long, but it's a couple hour drive away from where I live, and the bike doesn't reach out and obsessively grab me.....it just piqued my interest a bit at that price with the Miyata name. If it had really jazzed me a lot, I would have talked about it on this board AFTER I bought it.

If it's still around next weekend(unlikely), I'll drive over and take a look at it. And I would be doing the rehab work, so the cost of an lbs won't figure into it. (Although it's not like I am lacking for bike projects....lol)

Thanks for the responses!
