Very few rigid frame MTBs from that era bring that kind of price in my market, and this is not one of them. Look under that black pad if you are a buyer.
An earlier Celeste Grizzly, all original with original parts, paint and decals can be in that price range.
In my market, a good solid rigid frame MTB from that era can be found for ~ $150. I've found plenty for less, but that has been with aggressive looking and is not typical.
To below: Yes, it is a repaint, to me, that devalues bike AND it brings to question whether it was a Bianchi or not, and what model.
FWIW, the 1991 Osprey was made in Taiwan. Once a bike is repainted with new decals, its hard to tell what it was for the Asian models. Some Asian manufacturers made for a variety of bike brands. Its kind of like my Panasonic made Schwinn bikes. Are they Panasonics or are they Schwinns? Strip the paint, head badge and decals and the only identification left is the Panasonic serial number.

Is that a repaint? Its a great color. The 91 Osprey was a nicely appointed bike but I dont think Id pay $500 for that one.

I paid $35 for this Osprey about 8 years ago.
