Ordered a new Titanium gravel bike today!

I've been planning a gravel bike purchase for some time now and I finally pulled the trigger today. Put a 20% deposit down with my LBS that is an authorized Moots dealer.

It is a beauty:

- Moots Routt 45 Gravel with Blue Frost Anodizing upgrade
- GRX Di2 Groupset with DFLY upgrade
- Enve G23 wheel upgrade
- Chris King bottom bracket upgrade
- Brooks B17 Titanium Saddle in black

Hopefully, I'll have the bike sometime in April. Moots is saying about 6 months to get the frame.

At least I'll be ready for the Spring riding season!

I am very jealous.....my budget is far less than the price of your frame.
goody for you.

Congrats! That’s a long wait, but Moots are classic, and their welding peerless, so it should be well worth it!

Thinking about it, Moots have occupied the same space in the high-end boutique segment for so long, they’re kinda like the Rolls Royce of Ti bikes. That’s not a perfect analogy, but the wishbone stays are perhaps recognizable like the RR grill, and both marques share a stolid design aesthetic; not the most innovative, not too trendy, but always satisfying and of impressive quality.

I’ll look forward to seeing pics of your build!

I will certainly post pics when the bike is done. Thank you for the nice comments. I never dreamed I'd spend this much on a bike, but I'm at a point in my life (kids almost grown and out of the house and I'm close to retirement), that I can actually afford a splurge on a bike!

I suspect many folks ordering a bike like this are likely older. I know I could not have afforded it at a younger age. It would be interesting to know their target demographic.

Very cool. I look forward to seeing photos. Moots has a great reputation and I love drooling on their social media posts of all their new builds.

Sounds like an awesome bike build! I hope you have another bike to ride in the meantime, I'd go crazy waiting until April if I had nothing to ride!

Yes, I have an old USA made Cannondale Mountain bike (that I mostly ride on the road these days) that keeps me riding. I hope to increase my riding with a new gravel bike! That said, the wait is still going to be tough!

Well, it ended up taking 6 1/2 months instead of 6, but I finally got my new bike. Picked it up the day before Easter. I took it out for its first ride on Easter Sunday afternoon and it was wonderful. Plan to put lots of miles on this baby this year! Enjoy the photos!

It is! Moots offers the Titanium mount from Silca in a Moots branded version.

I'm loving it! I did my first ever bike race (Elephant Rock in Castle Rock, CO), a 45 mile route with 2900 feet of elevation gain. The bike performed very well and I'm loving the ride.

I am getting a bike fit done so that I can properly fine tune the stem height and length as well as a few other tweaks. My bike shop will work with me to swap in/out different sizes to help fit it to me.

My Ratul bike fit is scheduled for June 30.

Moots = good stuff. Yet those welds in pics not on par w my 2 Litespeeds.. '98 and '00. BlueRidge and Appalachian. Mine are smooth and do not looked welded.

Your comment "I suspect many folks ordering a bike like this are likely older." Yep, I'm 64 and just got a Moots RSL. I read a post where a guy calculated his expected riding years left with the cost of the bike. It was depressing. This is a forever bike worth every penny. As the guy on his death bed share with his buddy "Make sure the wife doesn't sell my bikes for what I told her I paid for them".
