Bike fit hurting knees of 27 year old male
I am an active 6 foot 27 year old who has skiied for a month straight with no issues. I have never been able to ride with my knees feeling comfortable on my bicycles on clipped in pedals (one is an aggressive bike, the other is more upright). I went to 2 bike fits which didn't solve the problem. I tried putting the cleats all the way back, I tried all shimano cleats, tried positioning the cleats so that my toes point a bit more out, tried 175,172.5, and 170mm cranks, tried increasing Q factor, different seat heights, fore aft positions, etc. The only thing I have not tried is cleats with more than 6 degrees of float and a midfoot cleat position. Do you think I should pay the money to try this? Is there anything else I can try?

Where are you getting your "bike fit"? I've been to shops that advertised fittings, but all they did was eyeball and guess. Total waste of time and money.
I, too, have knees that are very sensitive to cleat and saddle position. I found a shop that has the Shimano bike fitting system ( Shimano Announces BikeFitting.com Expansion and Tools - Cyclocross Magazine - Cyclocross and Gravel News, Races, Bikes, Media (cxmagazine.com) It was worth every penny.

I do between 1 to 3 laps in central park 2 to 3 times a week. Each lap is 6.1 miles. My knees have been a problem from the first ride til the last. I have not increased my riding

you're not describing the issues. If/when you do that, try to be as detailed as possible. Details on bikes, your personal DIMS, to include CYCLING inseam are important also.

Pinned flat pedals with non-clip pedals? I never can predict when my left knee will hurt. The cure for me is to move my foot around until the knee doesn't hurt. Pinned flats allow me to do that, and once I've found a good position for my foot, the pins hold my feet in place with Five Ten Freeriders.
I accelerate significantly faster with clips if my knee doesn't hurt, but I'm racing only myself.

Normally knee problems are the result of having the seat too low or using too tall a gear too much of the time. Most clip pedals provide ups to 6 degrees of lateral movement. With Shimano they color code their SPD-SL cleats with the yellow ones providing 6 degrees of float and the blue ones having 2 degrees and the red ones having 0 degrees of float. Something to check is if one leg is longer than the other one which is not uncommon and can cause problems. It is possible to have two different length cranks on a bike to compensate.
