E-BikeBell anyone????
Hi
I did a search about bike bells ,but did not find anything.
What I'm looking for no one seems to make. I would like an electric /battery bike bell (electronic) that sounds like a bike bell.
not a horn
not a siren
not a motorcycle or some other stupid thing
A BIKE BELL,,,,,A nice polite bike bell. Is that too much to ask for. Or maybe I'm just out of step with the rest of the world?
If anyone has info about a E-bike bell, could you forward info
Thanks Michael

My guess is that why you can't find it is because people that want something that sounds like a bell....will buy a bell. Why on earth would you want to complicate things with a battery, charging, etc?

Exactly! I got a bell at Dick's Sporting Goods, and it's loud. Louder than the boutique $50 bells. And it cost only six dollars.

I wouldn't have any interest in them, but there seems to be loads of them on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=bike+bell...l_8qxayslwfp_e

I wondered the same after posting. So I did more research on a subject that I have zero interest in. Several of the questions ask about what 3 or 4 sounds the bell offers. At least a couple of them include "regular bell" in the list. Electronic bells are right up there with Bluetooth speakers in my book of cycling dislikes.

No, the sounds are a combination of what you would hear from a bicycle or a micro car. Use cases are bicycles are e-bikes.

Read further. At least two indicate "regular bell" in the questions/answer section. Now, whether that's a regular desk bell, a regular bicycle bell or regular taco bell, who knows? Moreover, would the OP feel the sound is polite? I don't know that, either. But several of the listed bells would appear to be closer than what the OP had found so far.

The heart wants what it wants.
For my dislike of electronic bells, I have to say they work. I ride with a guy who has one. He'd been using a regular bell for some time. He would quite often ring it 2-3 times without effect. One "BRAAAP" of the electronic version and people scatter. Who can blame them? Sounds like a disturbed digital rooster is coming for them.
To me it seems like an electronic bell that sounds like a regular bell wouldn't be very effective.

OP: Here's one from Matt's Amazon link that has two modes that sound like a bike bell: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0772S9ZL8?ref=vse_pfo_vdp

I would get one if it could accurately emulate a freon-powered boat horn. I would like to produce the sound without the greenhouse gas emission.

IMO, if you want a bell sound you definitely want the t'ling t'ling sound of what a proper bike bell should sound like. I walk quite a bit with my wife on the local MUP and we both agree that any other sound is not readily recognized both for what it is from and even where it is. Perhaps that's a fundamental problem with electronically generated sounds. They just don't have the full spectrum of sound that a real bike bell will have and that make pinpointing their location as even being behind you a issue.
That said, I just holler out that I'm passing or a heads up or bike back if something else is going on up front. The regular folk on the MUP thank me for the heads up. The noobs jump out of their skin with surprise. A few immediately turn around and step into the path to the left of them that I said I was passing them in.
However I've got a loud voice and except for the few places where I have to compete with the noise on a parallel road, I can be heard more than 3 if not 4 seconds away. Which gives them time to do what ever foolishness they might do and me time to react.
I'd refrain from doing the excessively loud horn thing. You don't want to annoy people or hurt their ears with noise. Usually when we use them on boats we are quite far away and out of shouting distance.

Rolla managed to find something (the video) that sort of supports the idea it sort-of sounds like a bell. But it still seems it sounds less like a bell than an actual bell would.

It's an odd request. It's not reasonable to expect the OP to provide some explaination.

The video Rolla found supports this. It sort of leads to the question of why the OP wants one.

But it really didn't do that in a useful way.
Ut was just more-or-less what the OP appeared to have already done. It also included actual bells (which the OP wasn't interested in).
There was no indication which, of all the electronic noise makers displayed, sounded sort-of like a bell. It wasn't really helpful at all.

Breaking news: Overly sensitive person on the internet insults people.
It's common in my profession for people to ask for a particular solution when something else would work better for them. It's standard practice to ask why.
Knowing why might actually lead to a better solution for him.
Heck, you might even learn something with an explanation.
But, no, you, overly-sensitive internet dude, believe asking why in a discussion forum is inappropriate.

But nykayaker can still keep my apology for failing to do more than an Amazon search for the OP.

I would just buy a bell. I don't know the need for a bell that could run out of battery. My Spurcycle bell is decently loud and has a good tone and in the end won't run outta juice : )
You do you I guess.
