SRAM x01 axs work with Xtr 10/51 cassette?

Currently have cable Xtr on my mountain bike, if I wanted to switch to electric can I pop a xo1 axs derailer on my Xtr cassette and let it run? Both are 12 speed.

The answer is yes but a lot of people say if you want to run a shimano cassette you are better off running a shimano chain as well.
