Hi,

I am not familiar with this style of brake.

The barrel adjusters work, but they are all the way at the end.
There is too much space between the rim and the brake pads.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't even know what this style brake is called 🙂

That is a Campy "Delta" brake. I'm not a big expert on Campy stuff but those have a few different evolutions so not sure which that is. Until someone who can answer your question about adjustment you can do a search as there are plenty of articles on them, some which you may find are not big fans of their stopping power and complexity but they do have some rabid fans. Check the price of some used ones on Ebay or ? as some models can go for stupid high prices which you could use to get some better stopping brakes.

Take the cover off and you'll see the cable and a 3.5 mm head allen grub bolt. That's how the cable is anchored. Get on youtube and search Campagnolo Delta Brake and you can see how to get the cover off and a lot more. As someone who rides Deltas I'll tell you that they do work very well is properly set up (ie pads further from the rim than you would think) but they're not in the same league as good dual pivots.

They are gorgeous on your Colnago but a mechanical nightmare, you may not have a 3.5mm in your tools as of yet and keep them lubed as I tried to find a problem with a set that I though should stop as well as other period brakes and seem to recall nearly 80 discrete parts each if you count the o-rings.

I bought a 3.5 mm allan wrench.
The cable had too much slack. When I used the barrel adjuster and turned it all the way with the brakes touching the rims , the cable had about 1/4 inch of slack.

Tool the cover off and pulled the brakes together touching the rim ...loosened the "grub screw" pulled the cable about 1/4 inch with a pair of needle nose pliers tighten the screw while putting a 9mm wrench on the nut the screw sits in.

Now its nice and snug while braking!!!!

The current monetary value of those brakes far exceeds their level of functional/mechanical benefit. I don't mean that in a bad way at all. Just want you to be aware that those brakes are quite valuable to some people. They are a unique design made for a relatively short period of time, are instantly recognizable, and they say Campagnolo on them. That's a proven, winning formula for monetary value in the collector's market.

edit: I'll add that I have never seen Delta brakes in that color/finish.

The brakes pictured in the OP are 1991 Croce d'Aune brakes. In the 2nd photo you can see the external spring on the back as opposed to Corsa Record models with internal springs. The CdA's are 5 axis pivot as were the last gen of Corsa Record Deltas, much better braking than the 3 axis versions. As noted before, Deltas can be good stoppers, they just have to be set up properly. As to the finish, they are indeed the rare graphite finish, brought out in 1991. They levers and other components got the same treatment.

They are on a Colnago Mega Rapid ( early 90s ) made with Columbus steel !!!!!

I really treated myself with an early Christmas present.

Bought it from Velo7 cycles in Poland who got it from a collector.

I had the bike in 2 DAYS !!!!!!!!!!

Weight is 9kg !!!!

I would sell those and slap on some nice Dura-Ace / Ultegra brakes w/ Kool Stop pads. I think you can get $300+ for those.

I remember my friend who owned a bike shop,who is a campy expert showed me a set ot these in aluminum finish. He said they are VERY valuable.
I think I will keep the delta brakes that's on there now.
They are cool and it's the only delta brakes I have.

Is it ok for the " wings" of the brakes to be always sticking out?

( I have seen several pictures of bikes with the wings out like mine. )

if not..there is too much space between the rim and brake to stop.

I know its slightly "off center" and will adjust.

These are second generation Delta’s. This is how mine are set up. “Wings” out depends how close the brake shoes are to the rim. If the the rims are super narrow I guess the “wings “ would come out more. Mine are set up on mavic MA40 rim.
