Gold chain = too much bling?
I've been checking PBK for well over a month for a 10 speed KMC chain with a removable link.
The one time they e-mailed me telling me it was back in stock, by the time I went to order it, which was less than an hour after I received the notification, they were again sold out.
My question is should I get the KMC chain in gold, which PBK currently has in stock, or is that just too much bling?
Sample photo (not my bike) borrowed from a prior thread from a BF member in Tokyo.
FYI, if it matters, my bike is titanium.

I buy silver-colored chains. They all turn black after the first lube or two. What kind of lube will you use to keep your gold chain from turning black?

I think it looks good. All my motorcycles had gold chains so it doesn't bother me.
My Tarmac with the KMC chain.

Schweet Tarmac. I too like the gold chain but can't see the price diff for a different color with no performance upside. I do ride KMC chains as they are a great value.

The performane upside is that the gold coating is titanium Nitride which is suppose to have better wear properties. How much, who knows?

Haven't used Shimano chains for a very long time though, I was using SRAM chains before.

FWIW, Shimano used titanium nitride on the crown race of their Dura-Ace headset back in the 80s for precisely this reason.
