seat warmers

but seriously, does anybody have an idea on how you can install seat warmes. I was thinking of stuffing some chemical warmers into my seat...

LOL! What part of your lower region is getting so cold that seat warmers become a necessity? My sister makes these corn bags that work great for a 30-40 minute commute. Muslin bags, filled with feed corn, with a decorative case over the top. Microwave for 2-3 minutes, you have instant warm. I have found that I only need these on really cold days for the first 5-10 minutes, and once I'm warm, the engine stays warm for the rest of the trip

....the most valuable one..

It's really strange, lately I've noticed that I'm really getting cold, whereas the rest of my body is pretty comfortable...

What do you wear?

Someone recently posted a thread saying the same part of his body was getting cold on his commute, then he eventually said that he wears sweatpants.

just regular office clothing (business casual) + windbreaker. Pants are cotton or polyester/cotton.

Really, not that bad... high 20/ low 30s these days, if it gets colder I wear long johns and a sweater. It just weird, I feel comfortable, except that I realized that I am 'freezing my nutz off', to use CCrew's expression.

That freekin think would put scorch marks on my pants! It's funny, my butt feels colder riding in the car than it does sitting on a cold bicycle seat in January!

I have heard some newspaper makes and effective windblock with proper placement.

At less than 20 degrees, my hindend gets cold on my Brooks Flyer. I put the Aardvark raincover on and makes colder temps much more comfortable.

I used to wear something similar for xc skiing with plain PI tights. Then I found PI Amfib tights and biking [loose] tights. Both have a windproof front and breathable back. The loose tights (performance) are good on their own (only skivies underneath) down to ~20 deg F.

The OP should wear something similar, then change into the casual pants at work.

Just wear padded cycling shorts under your pants. They work great for keeping the nether regions warm.

I sure do!

BTW, I use two seat warmers on my bike. Right cheek and left cheek.

Besides the above tips, try wool dress trousers. Your cow-orkers will ask why you look so spiffy, and you can make up a story, but you'd be amazed at how well they work for outdoor athletic activity. I wear them skiing, too. Costco has Italian wool trousers for less than $50, which is a bargain.

And stay funny, too.
