Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Beautiful ride today. I took Deadman out for its first ride from home today (vs stuffed in the Dodge and driven to Canada Road - adds 16 miles and some climbs). I had swapped out the tatty old Selle Italia Turbo that came with the bike when originally sold for a Fizik Aliante VSX "Bull", for inflexible guys like me. MUCH better! No longer have to "pick a side" when in the drops! I tried to take a picture of one of my favorite roads, but as I got my camera out a group of cyclists were coming up behind me and it seems like in my haste not to include them, I didn't actually take the picture. Nuts.

Now for some leftovers and a nice nap!

Basically I had Thanksgiving dinner again, for lunch. But I figure the 46 miles I rode earlier about covers it. Don't think I can get in ANOTHER 46 miles before dinner, though.

Wanted to ride outside today. For those of you unawares, I live very close to the outlet mall. Roads were not safe for cars today let alone a bike.

Why is a clean kitchen such an alien concept to so many people?

Personally, I’m lazy when it comes to housework. And it just gets messy again fairly quickly.

If my wife wasn’t in the picture my house would be dismal.

My excuse, I don’t have enough time to clean.

Our kitchen stays pretty pristine. When all you do is heat stuff, it's not hard to keep clean.

Don't you work something like 80 hours per month?

thats what I get paid. But each trip has time away from base. So a 4 day trip might only pay me 22 hours but it will keep me out of base 78 hours. If I am out of base 78 hours than that means I am away from home for an extra 10 hours. You have to factor in the commute. So a 4 day trip keeps me away from my physical house 88 hours and I get paid 22 hours.

That doesn't have anything to do with the Colonial.
