Hey, Iím Steel Raleigh From Florida

My real name is James.

I just got into biking. Well thatís kind of a lie; Iíve been biking my whole life. But I just got realllly into biking. I just bought a vintage Raleigh a few months ago, and it just so happened that my car broke down 2 weeks after I acquired it. Thus, I have been commuting on this bike every single day, and Iíve loved every minute of it. Some nights I will just cruise around town when itís cool out and just enjoy the breeze.

Anyway, I popped my first tire yesterday 😭, and I stumbled upon this forum while researching tire sizes. I canít post a link but the post was titled, ďRaleigh All Steel Bike - Tyres?? Wheel size??Ē LOL. It was great to read everyoneís responses, and I got enough info to figure out that I need to go scope out my bike now. I actually just made an account to see OPís bike pics.

Anyway, seems like a good community here, so I hope to interact with you all soon. Iíll post pics of my bike once I get enough rep to do so. Thanks!

Cool cool. I just joined recently, and I am going through the learning process.

I have been looking at getting an older touring bike kind of setup for riding.

Similarly found my way trying to find info about my old bike. Definitely feeling a bit over my head but excited to enjoy the road this season!

Welcome to BikeForums. You'll find many a steel Raleigh rider around here....
A race bike in any era is a highly personal choice that at its "best" balances the requirements of fit, weight, handling, durability and cost tempered by the willingness to toss it and oneself down the pavement at considerable speed. ~Bandera
