What is the best sleeve length for a cycling jersey?
Do you prefer longer or shorter sleeves for the short sleeve cycling jersey, will longer sleeves be more comfortable? Where would the length be more appropriate?

Wear whatever you like, nothing is the best. Everyone will have a different opinion. I like short sleeves above 65°below that a short sleeve with a thin wicking long sleeve. Below 60° what ever layers will keep me warm. Once it hits 35° I’m inside on the trainer wearing short sleeves again.

If I'll be riding in conditions where sunburn may be a concern, I'll wear long sleeve jerseys (or short sleeves with sun sleeves) regardless of temp. The only issue with this approach is that many long sleeve jerseys are heavier/warmer than their short sleeve counterparts, so you need to make sure that you're getting an appropriate weight garment.

The sleeves on short sleeve jerseys seem to be getting longer each year, now most are down around the elbow. I'm not sold on the look, but it is comfy.

Go outside. Check the temperature. Dress yourself.

that's true. I have seen some advice in some videos that when the jersey has very short sleeves they see it as a disadvantage so I would like to hear your opinion

We can go from as low as 25 in the winter to a high of 125 in the summer here in the valley of the sun. I wear everything from sleeveless to short sleeves, to short sleeves with a bolero or arm covers, to full sleeves. On some rides I start out at 55 degrees and finish at 95 so layering is essential. Not a fan 3/4 sleeves though...

Longer sleeves are for warmth, sun protection, and/or better aerodynamics since skin is slow.
I like mid bicep length and then sun sleeves if in brutal sun.

Long sleeves are a must in the sun at 6500'+ in Colorado Springs ...even in winter. I got sunburn on my neck and arms a few years ago on a 5 hour ride in February.
In the summer my preference is a loose short sleeve quick-wicking jersey with separate sun sleeves. This allows the air to blow up the openings of the short sleeves and cool my pits and somewhat my upper chest and back. I'm not racing, so whatever speed loss from the loose fit and "air scoop sleeves" is okay by me.
In the winter and cooler temps I have a long sleeve wind breaker that goes over whatever else I'm wearing.
I may not look cool, but I stay cool.

I'll pretend to take this thread seriously....The more I toured the greater the appreciation I developed for the effects of sun at high elevation, even if the air temperature is not warm/hot out. I've ridden as high as 12,000'+ (Independence Pass). Often kept the arm warmers on to keep the sun off.

Same answer as to the question: WHat's the best product for adult urinary incontinence: Depends.
If it's a mild temperature and not too sunny ten short sleeves, if the sun is blazing down then long sleeves. THe only style I othink are useless are sleeveless shirts, but I just dislike having my shoulders uncovered.

In my experience, a long sleeve jersey is no hotter than short sleeves if the materials are the same weight and there is air movement. I'll qualify this by saying I live in a dry climate and it may not be the same if the humidity is high.

Below 60F, long sleeves rule. Above 80F, short sleeves. Above 100F, sleeveless. Between 60 and 80F, rider's choice; sun sleeves or long sleeves may be preferred in the middle of the day, but aren't necessary for my normal commute times. Over 80 it's too steamy for me even in the middle of the day, so my preference is sunscreen and bare skin.
All to be taken with a hefty dose of YMMV.
