Empty! One down and one to go! This one held all of my tools! Too long out of my sight and out of my hands! The other one shows on the 27th! I can kinda take my time unloading that one…bicycles, work and display stands!

The second and last container is empty! Everything rode well; couple of grips suffered some injury…
The effects of a couple of months of relative inactivity became evident when reaching and lifting bicycles straight up past pedals and handle bars!
I expected to not feel quite as achy once I retired and left my wfo life style…somewhere there is some small print that says; “This is it…take a pill!”
There is still some measure of stress that may be playing a part in my overall well-being. I’ve only been in my new home, state, and lifestyle for 11 days!
I’m still gathering paperwork to become a Florida resident! So many benefits that is not the chore it could be: no income tax, homesteading, the weather, and resident ticket price breaks at Disney to name a few…
Max has started to use his scratching post, perches but still retreats to the sanctuary of the bedroom closet! I have to remember that he to was living in the same confined space as I was and there will be effects from that. The whole trailer will fit into my new kitchen!
We “lived” there from October 22nd till the 18th of December! We pulled into the campground here in Florida on the 27th and immediately enjoyed the 40-50 degree upgrade from Massachusetts!
Anyhow here are the least embarrassing pictures so far:

Empty! Get it outta my yard, my sight!

The “official” bike shop; others may spring up just about anywhere!

Favorites and will fill out the “museum!” Tongue thoroughly tucked in cheek!

Living room/museum!

Finally hiking himself up the top perch!

The container is 16’ long and we couldn’t put the slide out on the trailer! I can’t even remember how we did it!

Wow. That'd grab your attention.

I've always wondered whether they're similar to those velociraptors in the film Jurassic Park, where one would stop you cold, but the one just to your left would be the one that'd get you.

What with all the cool electronica and tech available, there's just got to be a gator sensor or gizmo that'd warn of an upcoming animal lurking in the weeds. A device that'd warn of a big-bodied animal (reptile) off to the side of the road would be a nice feature, on a bike. Perhaps GoPro or FLIR or another maker will come up with some sort of infrared/sensing type device that'd raise Cain whenever finding one of those behemoths behind the next shrub coming up on the path ...

Don't have any gators in my neck o' the woods, I'm happy to say. Plenty of helicopter-sized mosquitos, though, in season, and the occasional copperhead snake on the trails when it's warm.

I’ve been riding around the neighborhood a bit. Everything is flat around here! Just geared up and hammered!
The bicycles have only just arrived. The newly arrived MTBs are really best to get my much need activity in this neighborhood. I’ll venture out in a little bit.
I’ve heard that the Lakeshore Blvd area is a good place to ride.
I still have a lot of things to straighten out: Massachusetts vs Florida.
I need to sell a bunch of bicycles, too! Actually these are the last 30 or 40 that I have kept and I don’t know which ones I would let go…I have the space so that’s not a compelling reason…oh well. All I have is time!

Previous owner left the home furnished…I don’t need these two bed platforms and I was going have them hauled away…wait! This might just be my new work bench(es) we are looking at! …Two birds; one stone!
I don’t need anymore horizontal surfaces inside!
Interesting material…I’ll have to bolster the vice areas…

Sooo, Nope on the beds…Max has laid claim! Actually he layed there! That’s enough!

Soooo… these are the rough, middle of the night sketches for the new shop. I like “B” the best…still very fluid and most is done with just one 4x8 sheet of plywood for the top…I may buy two pieces of plywood for extra lower and other shelves…probably 20 2x4s for framing and such…3 sheets of peg board, too! I almost want to make the bench top high enough to put excess bicycles underneath…may make the bench tops too high though…it’ll be easier to figure it out with a pile of wood in front of me!

Today’s “Happy Place”…I could never displace him! We both actually find this area very comfortable and I like that it’s a “not in bed place!”

It’s like Christmas around here!
I’m finally getting to the bicycle stuff!
I’m gonna hit HF up for three of their work stations-no muss-no fuss and built in about 3 hours! Really no cleanup either!
They pick up recycling on Thursday around here!
They have peg boards already…and lights! And power strips!
About $110.00 plus Florida tax each…still cheaper than lumber and no waste!
I will mount the vices, etc. as I get settled.
I will have my neglected road bike on the first stand that night!

Annnd go! From here…

…to here !

This is where the three work stations will go! Badda bing! Badda boom! Done!

The only bicycle that I had to ride since October 22nd on Cape Cod till moved in on December 17th! The other bicycles didn’t show till about a week or two after that! I’ll tell ya what…it could be my “only” bicycle! There’s nothing it couldn’t do when asked to!

Dreary day. Put a buncha bikes on Craigslist; got some calls. Some may pan out. Working on a new friend’s bike. Beautifully over serviced badly for years! Anyhow I got to rummage around in my still packed stuff to find the right tools and stuff.

We’ll look what $50.00 bought! I’m going to hold off on the benches and work stations I was going to buy and build the shop around this bench! I will need some peg board only!

6’ long and metal topped!

Sturdy!

Already has a back on it!

I think 36” deep…

Gotta clean that top!

Gots a drawer!

Yup! Big enough! The home is 26’x56’. There is the 13’x12’ bicycle room. Personal favorite bicycles are going to be displayed in the living room. 50’ covered patio. 9’x12’ outside secure work shop.
I’ve already sold some bicycles with a lot more interest in the others!
I’d like to get down around 20…that would be road and mountain bicycles and a couple of hybrid-like bicycles like my C-dale H300.
But as with most selling situations, once the wheeling and dealings starts and the $ starts to flow there’s probably only 10-12 bicycles I’m actually beholden to.
Even 1 or 2 of them might be in jeopardy!
Riding is different down here to say the least!

Metal topped benches are cool or cold or hot if they are in the sun! With this bench being inside it’s top will be perfect all the time!
Once you had a metal topped bench it’s hard not to miss it!
Oily messes and other spills wipe right up.
They are also magnetic! Magnetic bowls stay where you put them!
You can set up a magnetic field to capture any runaway bearings or other metal objects!
You wail away on some reluctant mechanism and not worry hurting your wood or such bench top!
Pros and cons…Cons:they are heavy! Pros:they are heavy!

New to me one is on the far right…

I like this better than the push button, infinite positioning!

At my point in life everything is a pinch point! Actually the button is really easy to use.

These will work great with the limited shop space and my slight arthritis!

The shop will to take a large step forward when the new bench comes in! The bench will anchor the shop!
All of the tools come out , get sorted and the bins go away!
The peg boards are the next or actually the other step!
Probably will do most of the room!
Everything thing else be fluid!
Easily rolled around.

I’m excited to say the least!

Can’t wait to get this stuff spread out and organized! I don’t want to nail/screw into the walls with the peg boards…I’ll have to do a subframe to nail the peg boards to…gonna be weighty…I’ll just build them tilted back just a wee bit…

!!!

I got out the jitterbug sander and the drill with a wire brush to get rid of the surface rust and who knows what else to metal top!
Took the legs off and hossed this monster into the bicycle room and put the legs back on without killing myself or wrecking the room!
I found an inspection tag that said: October, 1954!!! I was born in April of 1954!!!
Just gotta figure how to put up many square feet of pegboard and shelving without putting holes in my walls! Probably gonna build a super frame and hide it behind the pegboard!
Most of the bins are going away as the shelves are built!

Love these workstands and the extreme clamps! The stands were only made one year I believe…

Pegboards!

Pegboards!

The tool boxes will usually be closed!

That bicycle holder will probably stay as a staging area…it holds up to 6 bicycles!

Got a dance floor in here!

Max just walked in and got comfortable!
