Ever since I had Shingles in my right eye, that eye is a lot more sensitive to sweat and sunscreen. I'm usually ok on road rides unless there's a really slow climb, but when I do long slow climbs on the mtb it starts burning so bad I have to stop. I've never tried a Halo.

Instead I bought a stick shift that she can't drive. That's not why I bought it but still kinda funny.

I had to replace my car a couple years ago and I very strongly considered one for my 30-mile commute to work, but the realities of winter around here plus the need to haul more cargo than a bike can haul, plus my wife's unwillingness to consider being a one-car family, eventually took that out of consideration.
Instead I bought a stick shift that she can't drive. That's not why I bought it but still kinda funny.

For all we know one of the guys injured and unable to continue may well have been the eventual Tour winner, now ROBBED of his chance in the spotlight. VERY Sad.

They have to set an example to discourage future tragic incidents. "Life is rough" is what my latin teacher Father Gannon was fond of saying.

There are certain courtesies one adopts when attending a bike race. If they aren't followed, there can be tragic consequences. If you choose to put your face on camera so you can wish grandma a happy birthday, or whatever the sign says, rather than follow the rules, maybe bike racing isn't for you. I can about promise she will have a bad taste in her mouth after all the civil suits are done with.

As you said, there are people on the road all the time. If they're serious about their law, they wouldn't just be charging this woman.

last leg of a four day trip and Charlotte has turned into a cluster. Storms in the area shut the ramp down, not looking good getting back to charlotte or making my flight home. sigh.

My main club banned e-bikes a few years ago. There was quite a kerfuffle with club board members quitting and some riders vowing to never come back. Strangely, I think most of the quitters were anti-e-bike. There has been talk of revisiting the decision but so far the ban still holds.
The other club I ride with doesn't have an official policy as far as I know, but I have never seen an e-bike on one of their rides.

That's why my friend got his, doc's orders. His wife had to get one, too, even though when she trains a bit she becomes a super mountain goat.
