Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A lot of people should. Wouldn't work for me, even now.
Reminds me of some show (maybe it was "@ Midnight) where they asked, Fill in the blank: Nothing's more American than -------. One of the answers was "gastric bypass surgery".

Yeah. A sedentary day for me, with no bike rides and no walking outside of the house, is about 2,500 calories. When I'm trying to cut weight, I'll aim for 2k calories on those kinds of days. If it's relatively high in protein, I don't get too hungry or too hangry.

I shoot for under 2000 on office days. More physically active days. I'm typically under 2500. Even at that, it's hard to shed pounds.

I recently signed up for Paramount+ and I'm working my way through the various Star Trek series because I want to watch some of the newer series that I never watched the first time around like Voyager and Picard.

Holy moses I forgot how craptacular the first two seasons of TNG were. Sometimes a bad episode is still watchable because of good acting but there are just a massive amount of stinking turds in those first two seasons. I'm going to start skipping them. I watched them all 20+ years ago when I was a kid but I'm just trying to re-familiarize myself with them.

The original series is so bad I gave up after about 5 episodes.

2100 calories/day is how I dropped from 230+ to 200. But that's NET calories, adjusted for calories burned exercising. I've stabilized around 200, partly because having reached that goal I can't be bothered to continue calorie counting, and partly because my midweek rides make me crave carbs.
