How do you carry your Fahgettaboudit Mini?
Hi,
I'm considering buying a Fahgettaboudit Mini. But for what I've seen there's no dedicated mount for it.
Did I just missed it? How do you carry that lock with you?

Hmm..so I would need a seat bag, too. Any recommendation for a bag that has just enough room for the lock and isn't too big?
/edit: How do you secure your saddle bag against thieving? They stole my mudguards two times so I assume a bag won't stay at my bike for a long time.

I bought one for my husband and he just puts his in his pannier, but his primary use is for commuting. As you don't seem to have a bag, I'm guessing you're using your bike differently. Maybe check out Kryptonite's transit h-bar carrier or look for some other kind of u-lock frame holsters online. should be lots of options. Maybe even a cute leather one on etsy.

One of the reasons why I went for an Abus U-Lock over the Kryptonite, was due to Abus' Ezy-KF bracket, that makes holding the U-lock to the frame, a joy to use.

Thank you. After reading your input I took a chain lock (NY Noose) into my considerations because you can just sling it around the seat tube or top tube.
My only concern are the inner wires and cable housings that lay at the top of the top tube and bend around the seat tube. Do you know if the weight of the chain effects them?

My bikes all weigh 30-60 lbs. I need only ask the local surgeons to report who came in with a hernia from lifting a bike.

I made a canvas strap that I insert my NYFU lock into and it sits relatively secure on the frame. The lock is heavy enough it won't pop out, but I also sometimes use a small velcro strap to prevent the lock from rattling if I'm on bumpy roads.

I'm looking to put a mini U lock in a seat bag because I'm unwilling to sacrifice a bottle cage. I didn't see any suggestions for a seat bag to hold a 2.75 in x 6 in or similar lock. Are there any suggestions?
I want to travel as light as possible, fuel in pockets, water in cages, and since it's a good idea to have an emergency tool and tire kit, a seat bag that fits a mini u lock too would allow me to make short unattended stops. Sizing the seat bags is proving problematic, since I don't like the look of wedges (like a sagging diaper). Thanks for your help!

Its likely they don't make a carrier for it because of the weight. Even standard locks break away from their carriers. Anyway, it would seem that you'd just have to jury-rig something up to carry it with you.
I'd suggest a rubber sleeve (from a hardware store) placed over your top tube and and a Velcro (or two) straps to hold it in place. I think I've used my mini twice in nearly 3 years, and on those occasions I just put it in a plastic bag and hung it over my handle bars. Not pretty.

My Kryptonite came with a great mount that allowed me to place the lock precisely where and how I want it. Surprised to find this isn't supplied with them all.
My only criticism is that part of the mount is on the lock itself, which can be a bit fiddly between spokes etc in use.

Hang it on a seat stay? Why do you need a mount? I have had several locks and never used a mount. The are almost always a PITA.

I used those locks for commuting, I would leave two at work and keep two at home so I wouldn't have to carry them. If I did have to bring that particular lock along, I would strap it to the top of my rack with a couple of bungee cords.

Hmm, the way i've mounted mine it puts low stress on the bracket. The weight of my lock doesn't really pull it away from the mount, more across it. I should probably keep this in mind for when i fit it to the new bike.

The LBS had mini 6 lite on hand, and figured that it fits inside a banjo brothers large saddle bag. I get to keep my bottle mount.
