Any tricks to getting it not to twist out when tightened? The braze on clamp doesn't look damaged or anything but after line up the derailleur and go to tighten it to 5nm the tail end of the cage twists out to where it's not parallel to the chain ring anymore. Ideas?

Does it physically twist in the mount or is it just possibly a bent hinge point?

I'd twist it the other way in the rest position and just deal with it.

Also, the derailleur doesn't have to be perfectly parallel with the chain rings. Sometimes it's beneficial to keep it tail out.

That's normal, and in fact, to be expected (I assume you read the dealer manual that came with it?). You are supposed to tighten the braze-on models so they are inboard of the large chainring by 0.5-1mm at the end of the cage, and then align them using the support screw.

Yea, I read the manual. Did you read my post? Mine isn't inboard and using the support screw only pushes it out more.

You using the correct hardware to mount.

From left to right, you have fd, fd hanger (assuming it is curved and not flat) concave washer, then the bolt itself

If that is correct maybe the hanger is mashed from previous install.

Yep. I went back to the stock washer after first trying the K-Edge chain catcher thinking that was the issue. Same story.

I'll try and get some shots tomorrow and post
