Did anyone else think of Liv bikes??

Watching the game last night I kept seeing Liv everywhere and on every thing. I briefly wondered why and how Giant's Liv bicycle division could afford to be such a big sponsor of the Super Bowl. Then it dawned on me. Yeah, I'm slow sometimes.

But did any one else think it was Liv bicycles? If so, then Liv just got some very expensive advertisement for free.

And as a side...... How did the people in charge of approving the Super Bowl 55 logo not see LIV as 54 instead of the 55 it is intended to be?

It was a toss-up between Liv Bikes and Liv Tyler.

Well I guess you could move the Lombardi trophy to the beginning or the end, instead of putting it between Roman numerals L and V. That would eliminate confusing 11 people who associated it with Liv bicycles. If all of those 11 people pooled their voices together and contacted the advertisers they might have more clout.

FWIW, the Lombardi trophy has been inserted between the Roman numerals since Super Bowl 51. Lennox didn't seem to mind it back then.

I hope you didn't read my OP as me being angry. It was intended to be jokingly light hearted.

Or maybe I'm reading you wrong. <grin>

Not upset, I figured you were joking. My response was tongue-n-cheek.

I thought about your question and wondered just how many people are that familiar with Liv bicycles and then my response just kind of mushroomed.

I guess I'm equally slow. I was surprised that Liv was advertising on the carton of Pepsi I purchased.

No I didn't think it was LIV bicycles, in fact I didn't pay it no mind. In fact I still haven't bothered to look up who won. I know it was the Tampa Bay Buc Pirates vs. Kansas (maybe?) and apparently Metallica was snubbed to be the half time band but beyond that I didn't really care. It would have been good for Metallica, it would have likely been pre-recorded so Kirk and Lars could play in time (seriously though they have made more money than I will ever have and done more major tours than I will ever do and have a slightly larger fan base so they are doing something right)

During the game, I looked at the logo on one of the Chiefs' coaches' jackets. I thought it said LIV, and that it was from last year's game.

Then I came to understand that again, I see things as apparently only 11 other people do. I did think of LiV bicycles, too.

I guess what happened is that they couldn't use just an "L" for the logo for SB 50, so they used the trophy, instead, surrounded by stadium scoreboards, and the number. Since then, the trophy seems to now stand in for "L", although they put it back in the following year. So, what's next year's logo going to be? Should be LVI, but instead we'll probably get LiVI.

I'll be livid.

LMAO - I just shot Diet Pepsi out of my nose. My desk needed a wipe-down anyway.

I guess I'm one of the 11.

I’ve never heard of liv bikes, but I definitely saw/see LIV in all of the SB visuals.

I was a bit confused why they were calling it 55 when the logo says 54, but then I figured foobaw fans DGAF and so I shouldn’t either.

Yes, I was confused by that,

but not as much as the whole wearing-jockstraps-on-your-face thing.

Having a Liv bike in the household it was the first thing I thought of, but I also took Latin in school so was ready for the reality.

I'm unfamiliar with Liv bikes. I had to look them up. I guess that it's some sort of branding within/alongside the Giant brand, extended to other gear and lifestyle/entertainment stuff related to cycling? Anyway, to answer the question, no.

I also didn't watch much of the Super Bowl. The NFL lost me when it lost control over its labor and heavily pandered to whatever fashionable "movement" the malcontents have created lately. Ugh.
