Fantasy Vuelta + general Vuelta discussion. Spoilers welcome!

hay everyone... it's vuelta time! i've extolled the virtues of the vuelta for so long, i've run outta things to say.
if you like less predictable racing with lotsa mountain climbs contested by guys you had forgotten about or
riders new to the scene, this is your race.

so trying out this new fantasy site-eurosport-for the vuelta. some different rules (like transfers allowed, point
totals lower, no "dollar value" on riders, etc) so be sure to read through it all. interface takes a little getting
used to. you'll hafta register and then you're good to go:

https://fantasy-cycling.eurosport.com/#login

league name: bike forums
league code: K4H6SP7H

vuelta starts on saturday, august 25th so be sure to get kitted up before then. i'd also advise to check your riders again the night before or
early early the morning of the 25th. there were a few riders listed (when i created my team on the 20th) that i had already read were out such
as mikel landa. poels and bernal are both listed as riding for sky but was thinking one would be riding the tour of britain. anyway, doublecheck
your entries and happy climbing!

OK, I guess this old dog will have to learn ANOTHER new trick. Transfers are just so much work. Uggggh.

I am surprised to see that Velogames is running a "Spain 2018" grand tour. Conspicuously NOT the Vuelta. Ha ha ha.

well hell. the velogames league is still there so what could possibly go wrong? looks like a couple of you already entered "spain 2018" teams so count me in.
in case you had forgotten...

https://www.velogames.com/

league name: bike forums!
league code: 618163911

was hoping george/velogames would do a workaround just like this. italy & france 2019 shouldn't be far behind.
in other news, the eurosport fantasy site still isn't updated. nor is the full compliment of riders available. wth?!
so we'll run both leagues (i guess) for the vuelta and see how it goes. twice as many chances to wrest defeat from the gaping maw of victory.

I don't think that site is legit.

Velogames Fantasy Cycling is not an official partner of, nor claims any association with, any professional cycling race organisation, any international sporting body or any professional cycling team.

try the one from the tdf since the league name (with the exclamation mark at the end) is the same.
618163911. let me know if it works-or doesn’t.

How about the [over/under]^2 -- I say Bouhanni is involved in a protest before Porte crashes out.

OK, I'm in on both leagues.

Don't forget to plan for the transfers on the Eurosport league. Ugggh. Finicky, fussy, not sure I'll hang in there tweaking each stage, it becomes like work. However, if I overcome my laziness and actually make those moves, I want to beat you all because I'm smarter and more committed than you are, not because you were too stupid to read up and know you could make transfers. That's the kind of nice guy I am. Ha ha.

May the games commence. To those who are about to die, I salute you.

NBC Gold has apparently decided that I really don't need to see the Vuelta. Today's live coverage began two and a half hours into the race, skipping the first 90 km.

Live video started approximately 1 hour 40 minutes into the stage so NBC wasn't entirely to blame.

I'm hoping Bouhanni spits the dummy tomorrow because Richie may not have many stages left!

I reluctantly just rotated Sagan out of the order in the Eurosport fuss. I would be happy if that bites me in the butt because it would mean he's back in action after "flying through the trees and hitting a rock with [his] ass."

I've already had to make a transfer in the Eurosport league, because after stage 1 they said "BRENT BOOKWALTER HAS WITHDRAWN FROM THE RACE."

Apparently, was a bunch of cocka...
