Should I buy this Tern Link?
First to say I live in a country with limited choice of bike brands, folding bikes especially.
My primary city bike converted to mid-drive is waiting for replacement parts and I'm eager to ride.
Some time ago used Tern Link d7 appeared in great condition convertes to electric with 500w rear hub drive. I'm sure ebike components are decent quality and are installed by local shop and still under warranty.
What I'm not sure about is, is this bike safe to ride having in mind my 90kg (198lbs) of body weight and Terns reliability record on this forum. What would you do?

Don't buy it. Reasoning: Never buy into problems.
Tern has a horrible record of frame failures on their regular folders. Seems they use the public as a beta tester instead of sound R&D. Not only that, but when the frame failures started becoming more frequent, the company tried to claim the bikes were being used past their design limits and therefore no longer under warranty. Double gotcha.
Now add an electric motor to a frame that has a history of failure. Bad idea. Increases the chance that your frame will split dramatically at any moment. Not the way I want to ride.

+1^^^. If it didn't have a motor, I'd say check the serial number and inspect the bike super carefully. But the added stress of a motor
means you only want a bike with a SOLID frame reputation.

Tern's behavior has been horrible. I don't think they can be trusted. Just get a Dahon.

I concur with the previously added statements.
+ you would buy AT BEST a bicycle WITHOUT warranty, at worst A SUICIDE BIKE (because I bet with you that you would engage the electric motor to its limit and exert forces on the bike for which it was never designed for)!
