50s pathracer wheelset -- 27" Sturmey Archer 4 spd

This was in a lot of parts I purchased this spring. I haven't touched them except to remove the rotted tires and wipe them down enough to handle. As found and still somewhat dirty, but appear to be true and spin smoothly.

Rear wheel is an alloy shell Sturmey Archer FM from 1951 laced to an alloy rim (possibly the remnants of a Fiamme sticker) with slightly too short double butted spokes. There is an indicactor chain on one side, the other has a pin that might be tweaked slightly. Front is an unmarked hub with steel barrel and pressed alloy flanges and wingnuts. It's laced to a Joannou alloy rim with a couple obvious replacement spokes.

Sold

Fiamme?

Joannou 27" rim. Made in Italy

Unmarked front hub with wingnuts

Bikes: Was Fuji and got my grails (Pro, Pro SR, Design Series, & Ti). Now I hunt 50's and older road bikes.

Hah! Those are cool wheels. The front wing nuts are quite dear.

If these are still floating around, I'm interested as I have a 50s Claud Butler I need to rebuild . . . .

Funny, I was considering these for my Claud Butler too, but looks like was about fifth in line. Looks like @Dylansbob marked these as sold in the original post in an edit 2 days ago.
