Identify my mystery frame by the serial number- now with pictures
I recently recieved an old lugged steel frame of unknown manufacture. It's been painted black, but the original color appears to have been a light green. Frame and fork weigh about 8 lbs. The serial number on the bottom bracket area is n129350. Hopefully this is a distinctive format and I can find out what manufacturer/year this is. Anyone know?

I don't think a serial # alone is going to help much. Pics of the lugs and brazed bits are what's needed. Fwiw, that's not particularly light for a frame/fork, so I'd rule out decent steel tubing.

However, some Nottingham-made Raleigh's are known to have serial numbers that start with "N"

One other question, I think it is a Volkscycle. Look at mine and see if it looks similiar. https://www.pbase.com/cparker75/volkscycle
I have been looking at pics of your bike and mine and some other Volkscycles. In some areas the bike is very similiar. I need to get larger pics to look at more of the details.
One of my pics show the similiarity of the rear eyehook area and the crimping of the frame piece that runs from rear eyehook to the bottom bracket. Here is the picture https://www.pbase.com/cparker75/image/78699496
Also,
Is there a welded piece of metal underneath that metal cable guide? Here is a pic of mine with that same Shimano cable guide

One other question for you: Your second pic, is there a small square notch on the other side of the hole? I have a Shimano bolt that fits in the hole to lock with the notch on my Volkscycle. On the other side is a notch for the bolt to fit and not move. The upper tubing is not the same, but everything else looks similiar.

I'm not so sure it is that similar to your Volkscycle. The part of the lug at the seat tube that connects to the top tube is curved on your bike, while mine is straight. Your seat stays are also more rounded at the top and taper more near the drop out, while mine flatten out at the top of the frame and are very plainly connected to the dropout. I can't really tell how the chain stays are crimped on your bike from the picture. You also have fancy head lugs, while my head lug is just one plainly finished piece. I don't have the welded piece at the cable guide, which incidentally is Suntour, not Shimano. What format is the serial number on your Volkscycle?
Edit:
I do see a small notch taken out of the hole the bolt fits through on the other side of the seatpost clamp. Is this what you are referring to?

Those little square notches in the seatpost binder bolt hole are pretty common to a lot of bikes, Keeps the binder bolt from turning when you are tightening the bolt from the other side (the side with the nut).
