A bit confusing, some images are for a thread less type but no steerer diameter provided, they made 1” and 1-1/8”

the other shows a threaded type but not the thread style, French was gone but could be ISO or Italian.

Hi Repecharge,
I inherited European bike parts from my brother-in-law, an avid bike racer, and have been struggling to learn enough about these parts to sell them. I opened one box to try to answer your questions. Perhaps these pics help? If not I have calipers and will be glad to measure something for you. Thanks!

Feedback please

Can anyone tell me how to determine the type of thread and measurement info needed to offer these for sale? That info is not on the box, and I can’t find it online. Thanks!

NancyBeth Look at the end of the box and do a search on ebay based on the HS00CH 0114178 for example.- CAmpagnolo Chorus 1” Headset New | eBay

Someone else correct me, but would these be the measurements for this headset? Just to help Nancy out. I'm assuming the ISO, but I imagine Campy never made JIS headsets....

ISO (30.2mm/26.4mm), english threading, 36.5mm stack height.

What is the deal with the ball bearing sizes, though? 3.96mm? 4.76mm?

I was wondering about that myself. 3.96mm = 5/32" and 4.76mm = 3/16", so at least the sizes are standard.

Upper bearings reduced to save weight? Or different sizes to prevent indexing? The lower bearings obviously experience greater loads, so makes sense to be larger.
