Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe trying to do too much, or have unrealistic expectations of what you can or should be doing?

Gotta find your Zen.

We were all pissed about it but none of us went back to complain. I got a receipt with a promise of 2 free bagels if I go online and answer a survey.

The Hummer thread is actually funny in spots. The bicycle sustainability thread is downright ugly.

I tend to keep out of general as much as possible. I'll only see things that make me want to use my modly powers for bad.

I'm usually just opt to lay the bike down, but I've typically been touring on flatbar bikes. Might not be such a swell idea with barend shifters. I'll have to experiment and see what works.

I've found a reasonably light saddle and lost another 235 grams! Will post another update after I get some 32mm tires. I have a feeling that'll be a wash even if these 23mm CSTs are wire bead.

that it is. disappointing because it would be an interesting thing to have a civil and informed discussion about.

Found a pic of how I park when there's no fence post around:

It's also a nice pic of the dry bag that you were asking about, Velo Vol It's the blue bag strapped to the drive side of the rear rack.

I only ever toured with bar ends and never had a kickstand. I found if the rear pannier is packed it's really east to lean the bike against things.

btw, the last time I did a little tour I took the wheels off my road bike with 23s and put them on the tourer.

You've probably seen my Cannondale touring bike. Just before I sold it I threw some parts from stock on and took the rack off.

Food was dispensed on the ground floor. Upstairs you could grab a spot by the windows and watch the city hustle and bustle.

There was a cigar shop/newsstand next door.

I'm starting to think I'll run skinny tires for a while. Thinking about doing RAGBRAI on this thing, and won't be packing much on the bike. Road snacks in bar bag, jacket in the trunk bag, leaving plenty of room for stupid souvenirs I pick up along the way

I wonder what building rules are in the current new franchisee agreement?
