Buy this Merckx now

Spare me the pain of knowing this is a 1h drive away. Anyone...? I don’t even want to type out any details. I even had to save the picture on my
phone...

Cool headbadge, too.

Not that they are really anything to write home about, but that Sprint seat is pretty rare and in what looks to be from here pretty fair shape.

You don't really want this one, AJI. Front quick-release skewer is on the wrong side.
The right one will come along, just be patient.

Semi-seriously, I wish you hadn't posted this bike. Now my heart is filled with lust too.

A 1982 Serotta Club in 57cm and SunTour Superbe Pro just sold for $150 near me. Near pristine. I am heartbroken that I missed by 30 minutes...

You're right, and it's far enough out of my target price range that it's not really a consideration. It's like I opened Steel Vintage Bikes by accident. And what's the fun in a bike you can just get on and ride, without wasting countless hours and additional money tracking down parts???

Think of it as $40 for a groupset and wheels, and maybe, the forks can be straightened.
Leesburg, VA

https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...279583700.html

Bike has bent frame. Selling for parts. 8 speed cassette is in pretty good condition. 2 speed crank is also in good condition.

I'll admit I have no idea who made these but for $65 you get a pretty nice looking road bike with a triple and what looks like brazeon shifters. Tire look miss-matched and it predates when cheaper bikes came with bottle braze-ons. I know they made lower end bikes but have seen some nicer ones, usually twelve speeds posted on here.

Vista 18 sp
$65

Listed 4 hours ago in East Killingly, CTVintage 80s Japanese with a triple crank could use handlebar tape other than that it's ready

That sort of looks like a Reynolds tubing sticker on the top but I can't really tell. Seems like I haven't seen many Japanese bikes made from Reynolds, but maybe I just haven't noticed.

Maybe this has been posted already, but there's a smallish, Ultegra-equipped Tommasini up for bid in Colorado Springs closing soon: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/115831336. Looks like it has mismatched rims.

Sometimes you can do really well with these sales and sometimes it's a crap shoot.

Description makes no sense (smirking gear) and "23 inch rear rims". Unknown what the rims are (26 in?) but currently at $2 and there are used SPD pedals and what look like new SPD cleats and two rear racks if someone needs such things.

Phoenix, Az - Auction ending est. 8:41pm tonight.

https://maxsold.maxsold.com/auction/...626.1613094618

Bike rims - 23 rear rims, Nordic Track parts, smirking gear, two rear bike racks. B

Same story but might be more here and bidding at $7. There's a Viscount frame on the wall, a Gitane, an Apollo frame, "Glenn's Complete Bicycle Manual" (that should cover your costs), forks and old wheels, a box marked "pedals, chains, brakes, headsets" and a box of unopened bar tape and a Brooks seat. Most of it look like junk but a few things might be fun to have.

Just be forewarned! You win, you have to remove everything you bought or pay a disposal fees.
Too bad it can't be inspected before hand.

Puch or Astro Daimler? Later years when they switched to Japanese parts. 1978- early 1980s.
Date codes on the parts would help narrow down the year.

I think that sticker says Araya and 631, a blatant attempt to capitalize on the look of the Reynolds stickers.

I never saw a Vista nicer than that one, comparable to the Motobecane Super Mirage or Fuji Dynamic back in the day. Mid-mid-range.

Ah. To my credit I could only see the very right side of the one photo'd but they definitely fooled me lol. Thanks for sorting that out!

This is an interesting early Gran Sport, likely 1962 or thereabouts--- I picked one up this fall, and discovered it's not 531 like the later Gran(d) Sport(s). It seems to be some kind of Raleigh house-brand hi-ten steel--- but it's not super heavy and it rides pretty well. The no-name tubing notwithstanding, there are some nice parts hung on the bike--- BH Airlite hubs, GB spearpoint stem and bars, GB brakes, Campy Gran Sport derailleurs. The gent I bought it from had it carried over in an Airforce transport from the UK in the very early 60's--- he said it was the first bike with a rear derailleur on his college campus, gathering lots of attention. The paint job is lovely too. So maybe not as sought-after as the 531 Gran Sports, but kind of an interesting transitional model....
