Alan, Lejeune, Falcon, Gardin, Sekine in Toronto

I messaged the seller and he is ok with this post, was not sure about shipping, so if you want one of these you'll be doing that part too likely. It's listed in Toronto, so you can assume $CDN.

Another Toronto area alert

It seems that this year is starting of with high bike pricing in the Toronto area so here's one that while not high end is at least cheaper than most. Seller listed it as a "Race bike" and also as a Fuji, and as "a very expensive bike". Note the chain, might just not be shifter properly but might be an RD issue

Motobecane in Thorold (St Catharines) for $150, listed last night.

Nice looking Lemond Tourmalet at $200 w/$100 ship, maybe someone local to Indianapolis could negotiate local pickup to reduce the hassle/blow of shipping. Great bike, 60cm(ish), looks Reynolds 853.

Very dirty 62cm Schwinn Traveler $150 Chicago "Also I give with bike a bunch of things"

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/b...292839438.html

Per ad: (Spelling is correct per ad no might be a ESL situation if you go)
Hi everyone!

Im leaving oversea need to sell many things. This my second bike for sale, the Treck 1.5 I sold yesterday.
Swinn Traveller condition is acceptable and working, but need some cleanup and minor repairs. Its my favorite bike, I got from friend in New York and when I moved here, brought it with me.
Its very light weight and had a smooth ride, its seems it was made in Japan.
Im 6`3`` and it was perfect for me, but I used to put seat quit high, frame is 62, so maybe someone less than 5`9`` would be difficult. Also I give with bike a bunch of things, check pictures.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/143981143869

By funny coincidence last Wednesday was our first warm day and I got the good bike down with the tubulars and, funny story hit a sharp spot on a pothole that tore into my tire (it was an old, very old CT 290 which I had installed in November for "one last ride" and then ridden more than it could take).

Knowing the price of tubulars can be quite painful I just had to look at the ad. Tires in ad are Performance CT 290.
Quote from ad: "I’ve put air in some of the and they appear to hold air, I think they will work well for certain applications. New old stock but stored poorly. Still life in these tires."

To be fair I'd probably still make an offer, except seller only offering BIN and shipping to Canada is $30 + pre-collected taxes (haven't paid taxes on bike parts in sometime so not starting now).

^ It looks like I did the paint fill on that Paganini. A little sloppy. The pedals go well with the nearly slammed fluted seatpost and tall stem. I can literally hear the '80s paint job crying for a more aggressive rider. I say literally because no one means "literally" literally anymore. Or these could actually be voices in my head. I wouldn't care as much, but it's my size.

i sold a bike on ebay, entered the size/weight into the ebay FedEx calculator, it was something like $178 to go from here to florida. same box through shipbikes was $85, and that is the shipping price the buyer paid.
I've shipped a few dozen bikes. Fedex & UPS are usually within 2% of each other for rates. Lately when I book through Bikeflights, the rates are about 1/3 as much Bikeflights directs me to the local UPS store to drop off the bikes. One huge difference is the insurance. UPS crushed a bike I sent using Bikeflights and UPS refused all liability. Fortunately I paid the extra insurance fee to Bikeflights and they settled with the buyer pdq. I've learned any shipper or airline can destroy or lose a bike. The extra for insurance is must.

I know there is a thread for tall bikes, but couldn't find and so here it is. Not sure I'd pay $170 for this one but I'm sure there isn't a lot of choice at this size and it is kinda cool to see

Try one of these:

But this is probably the thread you were thinking of. It is one of the threads in the search results above.

I stopped selling on eBay because of all the buyer feedback extortion crap. My gut is telling me these three sentences are ultimately some "CYOA". I suspect it's why the price is so cheap as well.

The fact the rubber doesn't look cracked, the fabric and threading is intact without any mold/mildew is promising - I could show you some old tubulars I have laying around in case I need something to slap on a bike for show and they don't look near as nice (they inflate and hold air usually though)

At one point in the mid 70s (76 maybe?) they re-named the Continental to "Sierra" and then changed it back a year or two later. Absolutely no idea why.

Cool British Bike - $200 (Amarillo)

Vintage RALEIGH bicycle made in 1976 Nottingham England.
Completely rebuilt with new leather seat and 3 speed shift mechanism.
Only reason I’m selling is because I’m 6’3 and it’s just too small for me.
I would guess it would be fine for an average height guy or gal.
Price is firm; it’s less than what I have put in it....

Man I'd love to see something like this pop up local. I finally gave up looking and have a Guv'nor on pre-order. Hopefully I'll see that but early summer but it's not the same without rod brakes.
