BPA in bike helmet

I purchased a Specialized Align II MIPS helmet after returning my Lazer Compact DLX MIPS helmet because the Lazer had lead in the helmet (presumably in the built-in led light), and there was a California Prop 65 warning stating there was Bisphenol A (BPA) in the helmet. Is my Specialized helmet safe to use?

You're really overthinking this my dude. Are you planning on using the helmet as a drinking vessel? Or otherwise ingesting any part of the helmet? I would assume everything made of plastic has some level of toxicity, and if that causes you too much anxiety then ride without a helmet.

Im just trying to be as safe as possible and minimize my exposure to the various risks of cycling and everyday life. Personally I like to to reduce any unnecessary risks to me or my belongings.

your question might be best answered by the OEM. Once you find out your answer, post the information in this thread.

So are you going to start a thread over every Prop 65 sticker you find?

Stop the trolling. Thread closed. By the way, all helmet discussions are here.

But don’t post this stuff there unless you want an infraction
