Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pregnant wife just asked me for cake, we don’t have cake. So I hops to my ride to make a quick run.

The other day we had our windshield replaced on the mini van. The molding was messed up so they said they would have to come back in 2 weeks and re do it, but I shouldn’t notice anything and it’s not a big deal.

Im reversing out of my drive way, and water starts dumping on me. I mean it’s raining harder inside my van than it is outside.

Mojo I need you sober enough to talk strategy here. Long term plans I am thinking 911 but for now I will settle for a new van.

In local yearly mileage battle news, Brandon McNulty barely eeked out a win over Lisa Hynes. He put in darn near 17000 miles in 2022

You cannot fit an infant car seat in a 911 - lord knows I’ve tried to figure out a way, but the back seat will not allow it (safely). Thankfully I bought the 911 before I met my better half, but she always rolls her eyes when I talk about getting a newer one.

I was an avid snowmobiler at one point - still have one old snowmobile (but just sits)

dry gas and/or fuel stabilizer (Sta-Bil for example) were just about a must

911 would be the airport car. Car seats don’t go in the airport car. I have an image to uphold.

You'd take a Porsche to the airport? Do pilots get good parking? Because airport runs are what snot-beaten Fits are for.

When I lived in the canyon about 5 miles from here there was a group of them and one lady fed them. People were pissed about the noise and the local bulletin board always had angry messages.
They only make noise during the spring when it's mating season but so many people complain that some cities have made it illegal to feed them. L.A. made it illegal last year but I can't imagine them enforcing it. Where I live is about 150 feet from the city limit.[/quote]

Until junior gets out of a car seat altogether, the only other Porsche I’d consider is a Cayenne GTS, but I’m happy with my current SUV so I don’t envision that happening.

I really only drive 5-6K miles a year - it’s the beauty of working from home.

This would be for work. So I won't, because it's overkill and I could get another of what I have for $550, but drooling.

Panamera Sport Turismo seems like a family car to me. It'll even fit a bike.

I gotta wait for it to dry off a bit. There may be slides to avoid, and the early part of my ride is along a creek that was probably at least as flooded as the creek near the house.
