Yep, I had to do a post ride wash on my Colnago last Sunday and I am not a bike washer but the salty slime was too much even for me.

I've been neglecting the birds, a nice winter scene seems appropriate for the conversation today.

datlas IIRC, you’re the one who swears by Halo sweat bands. If so, which model do you use? I’d like to try the 4” Bandit but would want to make sure it fits under a helmet.

I was considering switching solely to the R bodies and RF lenses as they are lighter and there is now a wide range of "L" quality lenses with that mount. Before Christmas, I put everything that wasn't part of a mirrorless system up for sale, and got no interest whatsoever. Was quite frankly surprised by that as I thought my prices asked were very competitive based on Adorama, KEH, and local sellers' prices.

I asked earlier if you switched to mirrorless because I was considering doing so. I currently have a Canon 1DX body and a plethora of lenses up to 200mm (previously sold my "big whites"), all of which are "L" f2.8 or better lenses in pristine condition. I also have a Canon R with the kit 24-105 f4 lens.
I was considering switching solely to the R bodies and RF lenses as they are lighter and there is now a wide range of "L" quality lenses with that mount. Before Christmas, I put everything that wasn't part of a mirrorless system up for sale, and got no interest whatsoever. If you're having trouble moving your EF lenses, you can always get an adapter to use them on a mirrorless body. They'll obviously be bigger than their mirrorless counterparts but it's an inexpensive solution.

The mountain bike has mud and sand caked all over it and I'm fine with that.

I rarely wash my road bikes but I almost never ride it the rain. The Seven was nasty from water crossings and short bits of mud so I washed it and spent time lubing everything and wiped it with Pledge. Might be the second time I ever washed it in over 10 years. It looked pretty sharp for the first weekend then this past Sunday I got caught in the rain.
