Speaking of trains, a couple weeks ago my former roommate came across this scene while he was jogging, right after it happened. They were bringing in the beam to build a nearby bridge. Oof.

You mean it doesn't have USB-C?
I haven't paid close attention, but figured by now they'd be on standard power connectors.
Actually kinda surprised they're not wireless charge only considering industrial designer's general disdain for good stuff like headphone jacks/SD slots/removable batteries/etc

Next year. Some iPads (maybe the Pro?) are already C.
Mind, AG and I (and a bunch of her family) got phones now to continue having cable compatibility with each other on trips, and will likely all switch to C at roughly the same time.
The C takeover is already frustrating, where my new headphones use it but the 6-port charger on the coffee table has none. I can reuse the MBA charger for now, but it's annoying. And the C charging blocks tend to have fewer ports (a 6 is supposed to be available in "late spring").
It may be better in the end, but right now it makes me want to scream.

On Monday's ride, a fellow cyclist had a pinch flat. He had a very hard time replacing the tube and as a result pinched the spare tube. He finally was able to get the flat fixed on the second try but remounting the tire was a big struggle.
He was using Conti GP5000s. Clincher.
As a hoarder of consumables, I only recently used up my GP4000s tires and am running GP4000sII now, I find them reasonable to mount, tight but doable. Obviously in another 1-2 years I will have to get tires and would ordinarily get the newer GP5000s.
Can anyone confirm or refute that the CLINCHER GP5000s is a much tighter/tougher mount than the GP4000?? I know the tubeless "ready" one was a ***** but that's not what I am asking.

I'm very happy with them after using Vittorias for decades. Never tried the GP4000s.

Can confirm. All the Apple devices I've purchased in the past couple of years - including phones, laptops, and pads - have all been USB-C.

While talking Apple charging, my year old MacBook that I ruined by spelling water on, had a USB C on both side which was handy because you could charge it from the nearest outlet no matter which side. My replacement MacBook only has ports on the left side.

We all share the passion of cycling, whether a pro cyclist or the most causal rider. In our midst we have a Professional Cyclist, well actually we have a couple Mat Stephens, and Lauren Stephens. Many of you know Mat as a pro cyclist, and as one of the very best bike fitter's anywhere! BTW, he came in 5th place overall at the Unbound XL (350 miles) gravel race this last year! Included in this super couple is Lauren, a Women's Pro Cyclist for EF Education-TIBCO-SVB. She is getting ready to race at the first World Tour Stage Race of 2023 at the Santos Tour Down Under in Australia, the women's stages will be Jan. 14th thru Jan 17th.

Here is the deal, she has a ride, that yes you can ride and train with her. Now granted it's 93 miles and 2300'+ of climbing, with an average pace of about a 19 mph. So for those that have a bit more experience and some horsepower, what a fun way to spend a day on a ride, and getting in some excellent training! This is one of those things that makes cycling and the folks involved with it so great!
Thinking about showing up. Maybe make it a mile, perhaps 1.25 miles before getting dropped?

I don't know how much celebrity these people have in your area but Peter Sagan hosted a charity ride here and some of the people who showed up were not ready for it. I was out there and if I am passing you on a hill you have no business trying to ride with Sagan.
