Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have a box of checks from an account I opened in 2015. It's likely a lifetime supply.

We have our system and it works for us. The 2% we might lose by using the debit card is immaterial.
Aside from travel, I do the same for the same reason- budgeting.

The last time I ordered checks was for a deposit on my house. Was also the last time I wrote one.

At least they’re honest? I don’t see it being any different than a cash vs credit price on gas

Riding at night on a Friday wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Only one close pass, the drivers were super respectful. Not going to lie, every car that was approaching me, I assumed was a drunk driver and I was about to die.

Did see one drunk driver, or on the influence of something. Could tell by how deliberate his actions were. Trying to hard to look like he wasn’t drunk.

Emonda was a blast. Think I want a stem with a little more drop.

Until the next time we're told to move from one port to another anyway - miniUSB, anyone? MicroUSB?

It's not just me, either. But of course, keep telling yourself you know what's best for everyone.

Last night I did hill repeats in a nearby neighborhood. Used to be my pre-work ride but now I start much earlier and have no desire to be out of the house before 5 like you do.

Felt amazing afterwards and slept really well last night, so I guess I need to make that a regular thing.

Yep, none good. I don't participate in these extra fee schemes. You agree to accept credit cards then you do. I won't go back there even with cash. I don't tip people that make minimum wage either. I really don't like it when I pick up a to go order and they shove 2 receipts at me to sign and there's the spot for a tip on it. You don't make $3.00 an hour. Bite me, get a better job. You handed me a bag someone else cooked, now you want a tip?

I've never had a credit card and I know I should probably get one but they're a foreign concept to me.

Parents are super in to Dave Ramsey and they had me take his class as a prerequisite for when I needed some help back in college.

They've been attempting it here for years. Some places have done it, and gotten away with it even when they weren't technically allowed to.

I bought 3 lighting set ups for my bikes.the rear light takes a micro and the front takes a mini "c". And the headlights have 3x the run time. Makes my head want to explode.

I'm not saying that I know what's best for everyone, but I am saying that, big picture, it's hypocritical to cite waste as a reason against going to universal standards.

That is a problem as well. We like to say that if you see an iPad at the counter you’re about to tip for something that you’ve never tipped before.

There are a couple of small locally owned restaurants around that I would like to see stay around. I’ll tip at those even though you order at a counter, and all they do is bring you the order.

The utes in the thread may not realize it, but in the 80s virtually everybody got high, and I'm not talking sipping cocktails either.
