Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My cycling friend who knows Indy IRL said she sent him an email. Stay tuned. I am hopeful he is just busy with work, but I agree it's not like him to go dark on us.

For the first time in my coffee drinking career, I am getting through the day on a single strongish cup of robusta, usually drunk around 5 AM. That's not to say I don't crave an afteernoon cup, but it rarely agrees with my system. Perhaps I should try decaf, Never have.

2 days ago we picked out what we were going to wear as a family.

This morning. ITS ALL WRONG. I am not sure what changed in the last two days, but what ever changed, changed for the worst. Did I mention it’s all my fault? It’s all my fault.

Now I am at the outlet mall trying to get my wife and daughter new clothes to wear for our pictures today, because somehow it’s my fault the clothes they were going to wear don’t work. Sigh.
Most of us knew this when we read "family picture day". Just put your head down and say yes dear, I'm sorry dear. And for gods sake don't make eye contact!

I'd lose my mind. I can't wear even regular thickness socks on the bike. I wear these see through thin socks that only cover my foot. Anything thicker bunches up under my toes, or ieven worse In between them. I had a pair of " the sock guy" hot pepper socks, they lasted 1 ride. I stopped twice to extricate them from the toe box of my shoes. The second time they went into a trash can.

I have considered that, but most of us professionals have contracts and a conscience so we cannot do that outside of our daydreams.

Just sold a set of old speakers on Craigslist in 14 hours. I must have seriously underpriced them, but at least it was quick!

I learned yesterday that, after his blood tests last week. There is no longer any sign of leukemia in my father's blood. And that if/when it returns, due to something in his red platelets they gave a different treatment they can use other than chemo.
He's aged 15 years in the last year. He looks old now. I am amazed he is still here to be honest, tough old bugger. He is still getting used to his hip. There's a slight limp. So now monthly blood tests, that's all.
Mom goes in for shoulder surgery Feb 2nd....the hits just keep coming...
Thank you all for the well wishes, prayers, warm thoughts.
