No one seems to remember, but Zwift was originally free. All we had was a crappy, pixely looking Watopia. I don’t remember how long it was free, but at least two years, maybe three. I dropped it when they started charging.

I am quite happy with RideWithGPS, for recording my rides.
I had one of those rides, today, that felt like it should have been much longer. Stops for adjustments along with fighting the wind most of the way home. I was only a minute slower than my slowest, non-wind ride on that route. And a first. A 2 km stretch of crosswind that manifested as tailwind in both directions.

I record bicycle rides in RideWithGPS phone app and have it synced to Strava, so they show up in Strava. I record all other activities with the Strava phone app.

Does he work in the city? There’s a bus that you can link to the Blue Line with, but that’s about it. We do most of our flying out of Logan (since Albany sucks) and have never had trouble getting an Uber.

It’s walkable if you live in or close to old town. We walk to most places unless it’s extremely cold. 9 times out of 10 the car doesn’t leave the driveway until we go home.

I’ve lost a couple due to people driving home from the MUP near my house and having their rode still recording. It’s annoying

Mom died at 89, and I'd say her last maybe 2 years weren't great physically, but she was still reasonably "with it". Dad lived to over 100, but I don't think he got that much out of the last, say 4 years, because of dementia, which seemed to hold off till Mom died when he was 92. Like he was holding on, to take care of her. Popping pills doesn't bother me. I've been taking two pills for hypertension for at least 10 years. Of course, that's not the handful of pills Mom was taking toward the end. There were at least 5, with different frequencies, with/without food, etc. I did wonder whether any one doctor knew all the pills she was on. My grandmother was on coumadin for years, and probably shouldn't have been for as long as she was. So, I'd like to avoid the dementia he went through, and the ever-increasing debilitation of congestive heart failure she went through.

Then there was the doctor, new guy at the Home where my other grandmother was. He looked at her meds and cut one, I forget which one, that had a narcotic effect, and some level of physical dependency. Withdrawals were unpleasant for her, according to my Mom. She said he'd cut it, because "she wasn't as active as he'd like." I said, "How active should she be? She's 96. Most people her age have been dead for 20 years."

My mom died at 81 and my dad at 68 but they both had complications from smoking. If not for stage 4 metastases in my lymph nodes from prostate cancer, I’d probably outlive my mom’s 81 years easily and maybe I will yet with the drugs available today.

If there were the remotest possibility of me scoring one, then losing it to a cheater would bug me. But, just as an example, my BEST time on a 0.92 mile segment is 4:38. KOM is 2:38. My PR is 2271 out of 13872 efforts on that segment. Hence, why I'll never score a KOM.

Noted on todays ride that the RD would not shift to the 3 smallest cogs.

Of course, it’s the dreaded frayed shift cable. I don’t track cable life, but estimate 2500 miles on this one which is both typical for me and effing ridiculous.

I had to struggle a bit to extricate the old cable and a couple snafus replacing it, including dropping the RD cable fixing bolt and searching for it for 10 minutes before I found it. The whole process seemed to take forever but in reality took maybe 90 minutes.

Mrs datlas made an “egg caserole” from a Tic-Toc video she saw.

It’s actually quite good. We get our eggs from a nearby farm, and they have not raised their prices despite what we hear about grocery store eggs.

One of the schools Mrs John worked at had a small farm on campus and they had chickens. All she had to do was bring egg cartons to work and they would fill 'em up for her.
A house near me had a sign out front advertising fresh eggs but I noticed this Sunday the sign was gone.

Today I went to the bike path to spin for a couple hours and there was a sheriff deputy on an electric motorcycle cruising around. Never seen that before and it made me wonder WTF?

We tend to splurge on high quality food. The taste of farm fresh eggs is worth it.

Mrs datlas is known as the neighborhood egg lady. She goes to the farm every 1-2 weeks and gets eggs not only for us, but for several people in our neighborhood.
