Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I found a hard shell travel case on CL so will go check it out after the ride.

I think this is a fantastic time to get a ritchey breakaway.

I don’t want to shill for pactimo, but I will again. Their bibs are hands down best I’ve ever used from a comfort perspective. 7+ hours and they still feel good.

they have their summit series jerseys on sale right now for $75 down from 150ish- I’m a huge fan and have been stocking up slowly over time. They’re super comfortable and cool nicely. They also have a pretty decent rewards program.

this jersey for $70 is a steal

It’s amazing how fast this infection hits and is gone.

Symptoms started Thursday morning as a sinus headache, fever hit Thursday afternoon, yesterday was miserable with body aches and a fever that wouldn’t go below 101even with NSAIDs.

This morning no fever, no aches, just congestion and irritating post nasal drip. I could probably go ride if my wife would let me (she won’t).

3 more days of isolation in my office…

Having been here since 2005 I only recently discovered General. I've been told I'm too incompetent to use a glue less patch and told I was trying to exonerate the Corvair, at least I think he was including me.
Some of the threads are fun for a bit. The guys who want to argue about anything, though, just give me a headache. Like a dumbass, I challenged that one guy again this morning.
I gotta stop doing that.

I had one issue w. The R3 that was mostly related to winter abuse. No issues with the Aspero on either the stock or wheels mfg BBs

I had a cold with a continued cough that had been going on for like 2 weeks before this

I’m mostly irritated that
1- I can’t ride
2- I’m missing my friend/personal trainer’s birthday party tonight and
3- I can’t ride

Honeslty for the price. Castelli stuff I like the most. You can always find it on sale and the quality is great.

They just need to update their sizing.
Castelli is sized for riders that are not too fat for this sport.

That nasty bug has been going around for some time now. It's worse than a regular cold but not as bad as the flu. No fever, but all the other symptoms fit the description.

I think I got my bout from my grandson in October, bless his little heart. Lingering sore throat, brutal congestion and incessant coughing. After 3-4 (sic) tortuous weeks I thought I was over it, but a week later it bounced back for another week just before Thanksgiving. I took 2 covid tests to make sure I wasn't spreading anything to family for the holidays. Finally, right around New Years the hoarseness abated. I think.

I swear, I don't think I've ever had anything like that before in my life. All the while, no fever.

I grew up in a family that argues for sport, so I enjoy throwing rhetorical elbows every so often, but some of these guys... They lose the thread, and stop even having a point.

Last Sunday's ride, despite the rain I was pretty comfy, except my feet. I wore toe booties, since it was in the 50s, and my shoes and socks just got totally waterlogged. It took till Tuesday for the shoes to dry, under a heater register, stuffed with newspaper. So I ordered myself some Velotoze waterproof shoe covers, which arrived on Thursday. If things work like they usually do for me, there will be no more rain this year.
