Would it be worth the drive from the GA coast to only sell serviced and freshly lubed vintage freewheels?

Don't think I could adjust my January cross-country travel to hit that. Dagnabbit.

Guess I'll have to wait for the GABA bike swap in Tucson on April 2nd.

Shoulda posted earlier, but it was touch and go, turns out I did get a table. I'll have two extra wrist-bands, would be happy to hand one off to someone willing to watch my table while I tour the joint sometime early. Or if you have a few things to sell, there's probably room. PM me.

Bikes:
* '82 Trek 710 18.5"
* '85 Trek 600 19"
* '75 LeTour "mixte"
* Poss some entry level MTBs and/or hybrids

Stuff:
* Some almost-minty '80s MAVIC bits, starfish crank, BB, headset, FD, stem
* Campag seatpost 26.4
* Mint-ish DuraAce track crank / 53
* A few road/MTB shoes, 41/43/44/46
* Odds&Ends - Old steel MTB slingshot stem/bar, Scott DH tri-bar
* Cannondale R300? frameset
* Trek fastback 600-ish frameset with cracked DS dropout, yours for the asking

I'm at table 14, near the front right. Anyone else in that area, I'd be happy to swap table-watch time.

Y'all who have posted that you're coming, post your table number so we can find each other. Assignments - https://www.brazendropouts.org/bike-swap

BTW, anyone spending $100 or more on my stuff, or buying one of my bikes -- show proof that you've made a donation to one of the local bike groups, and I'll discount the purchase price by the amount of your donation, up to $40. You could even make the donation on the spot, at one of the groups that will be there.

A fine time was had by everyone. r0ckh0und was to the left of me, Voldemort-tunes was to the right of me.

I came out behind, only because I met a new person with a penchant for old Italian stuff. I was happy with some 36mm tubulars for $20 each when a Simplex bottle cage and Super Rosa saddle appeared. I do have an appropriate project for the cage, the saddle is just good to have because an Italian fake Brooks is never around when you want one. Anyhow, I couldn't sell enough $2 I Like Eddy stickers to keep up.

So I got to meet r0ckh0und, and FINALLY met the overfed (not-so-)long-haired leaping gnome. I must've seen you as well, can't remember if I bought anything from your table.

Money-wise I did alright, but barely made a dent in terms of clearing space. I REALLY needed to plan better wrt. table sharing/watching, so I coulda spent more time visiting tables and the corral. Oh well, n00b goofs....

It was nice to get back to this event after a couple of years off. I met madpogue and nomadmax for the first time and did some catching up with several others. For the first time in a long time I actually sold more than I bought. I moved the Schwinn Passage frame on and traded the Mongoose ATB for some cranksets and cash to a gentleman in our little 8 table section. Also found a Hozan spoke threader for a great price.

Here is a pic sent to me by someone that was there, but shall remain nameless. The other person in the pic is the actual builder of the frame in the background. One of 2 built in 86. I'll put the frame backstory in another post.

Backstory on the frame in the above pic.

The builder, Chris Fiorini was amazed it still existed. The nameless guy had it for sale for $400 firm. A 19 year old kid drove 2.5 hrs from Iowa with his mom to get his first "real" road bike frame. They passed the frame 4 times and made inquiries. They also were looking at a Masi GC. The kid made an offer of $375 for the Fiorini. A deal was struck. The seller asked the kid what he was going to build it with. "I was thinking of Campagnolo" came the reply. "Well then, the price is now $350." As the mom counted out the bills, the seller got the kid's rural delivery address. He decided to sweeten the deal by throwing in/shipping a set of matching Vittoria Pave's, and a Centuar 10 speed group/wheels. All at no extra charge. That's how you keep the flame burning!
