Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did you miss the long, long thread a few months back, where Timtak was extolling the wonders of his bike position which had ridiculously low bars? He was basically saying all the pros bikes are unaerodynamic.

I think one of those is your Madone. I don't want to know what you have done to your bike to make it fully erect.

Oh. no. In fact I went to Trek yesterday to pick up the bontrager elite stem with 17 degrees of drop and that looked ridiculous. way too much.

Looking at the Zipp Sprint SL stem now, 12 degrees of drop.

Every time I see that thing, I picture sliding off that saddle and slamming my sternum into the smokestack above the stem.

He was either in Road or General. Never on this thread to my knowledge. It was marginally entertaining at first, but like a lot of threads of that nature it got really repetitive after a while.

It doesn't appear the Tennessee East Coast will see anything frozen. Rain only.

I put a -17 degree stem on the Bianchi, when I ws dropping from a 120mm to a 110. I tried a -12, but the bar was too high.

On most bikes, 17 deg puts the stem pretty close to level with the ground. For a road bike, I find that look very appealing...as long as it has minimal to zero spacers underneath.

No, that's correct. But it's only 2mm/side, so you might not notice it putting the wheel in.. I have one bike that's a true 126, and I have a rear wheel just for that bike. The rest are all interchangeable

Further west on I-40. Look at that truck to car ratio.

Here is one such thread: https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycl...tulates-3.html

Post 51 shows his state of the art work.

The most recent repair thread is full of improvement ideas.

True. Of course, if you want the ultimate in comfort you should consider a recumbent.

BTW that thread is not locked, so it could be bumped if someone felt it was relevant.

Define 'severe'
If only the westbound is closed, why is it backed up so severely on both sides? Rubbernecking?
